The Borquez Family go on vacation!
Our first vacation as a family of three took place this week and I must say that we had a wonderful time. It is so nice to be with my family and to get away from the everyday routine for a little while. We hit the ground running first thing Tuesday morning and headed over to Chattanooga , TN for a visit to the aquarium, zoo, and the Choo Choo hotel. Kal-el ended up being a great little travel buddy, which gives us hope for our future trips which will more likely than not involve time spent in airplanes! Once we arrived in Chattanooga we checked in at the Choo Choo and spent a little time touring the grounds there. I had not been to the Choo Choo since I was a little girl and everything was pretty much just as I remembered it. All the little shops, the train cars, and gardens were all still in their places. Kal-el is at such a fun age. I love watching his little face and his eyes light up when he is observes new surroundings for the first time. After we had a little time to rest and get all of our belongings unpacked we made our way over to the aquarium so Super could look at the big fishys :) Chris and I love all animals so I knew we would have a great time to. Kal-el has a new word these days and its on constant replay. It's "look!" accompanied by a cute little finger that points exactly where he wants you to look. He did this ALOT at the aquarium. It was precious. We weren't sure if he would be at the age where he could actually enjoy this little trip but he proved us wrong. He was engaged the entire time! The highlight for Chris and I was getting to pet the sting rays. Chris was a little leery at first but once he gets going he wants to pretty much adopt all of God's creatures lol. Since I have sexy t-rex length arms everytime I would reach to pet something in the water either my shirt or hair would get wet. I had someone telling me everytime I reached in. I didn't care though I was trying to get our money's worth on this ocean adventure. I'm sort of crazy when it comes to nature, or animals at least. I will touch almost anything. I would of massaged an alligator if they allowed it...I have it bad. I also do weird Disney animated like sounds and baby voices when I talk to the animals. Chris, (God Bless him), has finally, after 5 years learned to ignore this when we are in public lol. We spent a few hours enjoying the aquarium and then made a stop by the gift shop on the way out to get a little something for Kal-el. We kept trying to selfishly entice him with cool things like sharks and crocks but he wasn't having it. He was pointing and screaming like a mad man at this little penguin with big eyes. We handed it to him to make sure it was indeed what he was pointing out. He immediately started biteing its beak and hugging it and talking to it. We have a winner! We decided that swimming back at the hotel would be a nice way to close out the evening. I must say that Kal-el is a little fish himself. He adores being in the water. After our swim we ordered some room service and headed to bed so we could get up for the zoo the next morning. I woke up with the sun right in my face and looked over to see my husband pearing out of our room at the pool below. I knew right away we would be takeing another swim before our zoo trip which was fine with me. Once we finally arrived at the zoo Chris was an instant hit with literally every single animal. Just add animal whisper to his already established titles of baby/dog whisper. It's the funniest, most bizarre thing ever and I love it. There was a prarie dog there that I thought might cry when Chris walked away lol. Despite the rageing intensity of the heat we all had a great time at the zoo and on our first trip together. I hope we can travel again very soon, we love it. I already have several places in mind! I know for sure that we would like to visit Chatttanooga again because they have a murder mystery dinner play on the weekends. We just barely missed it this visit and I adore those kinds of things. Hopefully by this time next year we will be able to finally take Kal-el to Oregon and Disneyland! Even for such an awesome trip at the end of the day it's nice to get back home to the rest of your family and furr kids! :)
