Keeping Up with Kal-el- February

It seems like my little man is growing and making new developments not only daily but almost down to the hour! I adore this age so much. I've said this before but I don't know how in the world I can even come close to listing all the new cute stuff he does but I want to put as many as I can think of!

- Kal-el is obsessed with BUGS. I still can't really decipher if its a love or hate relationship. All I know is that his reaction to them is VERY dramatic. He will point them out in a very theatrical fashion, gasp and proclaim .."A BUG!" or "THE BUG". It's so funny everything from a spot on the floor to his own little nippes are BUGS!

- When I ask Super "Where is baby Logan?" He smiles sweetly and points to my tummy. On a few occasions he will stick out his own tummy and point at it. Adorable!

- He will also point out all of our family members on the blog if I pull up pictures for him. We are still working on saying everyones names. He will often lean forward and kiss them as well. Sweetheart!

- He repeats tons of phrases that he hears..he will be talking in sentences in no time!

- He still has a huge love for dogs. He always says "Hi Max, Hi Ginger" but when it comes to our puppy McCoy..he squeals with delight and screams "Coy Coy Coy" They are best buddies!

- Chris's new work schedule has been a real adjustment for Kal-el. If this child could be GLUED to his daddy at ALL times he would!

- Super still LOVES Mickey Mouse and will often and at random times repeat phrases from the show..his two favorites are definitely "Oh Boy" and "Ohhhh Toddles". He also LOVES the hotdog dance and will sing "Hotdog" over and over while his busting his moves! lol :)

- When he's not in the mood for Mickey..he will yell out "Hanny Manny!" its so clear now. I know I better turn the channel fast as his tv mood as changed!

- Super still loves his nightly bubble baths. Bath time is his favorite time in general. He does ALOT of talking while playing in the water. He will point out all of his body parts and he LOVES washing his feet with the bar soap. He'll say "feet" and point for me to hand him the soap. Last week before I could stop him he touched his eye with the same hand he had been holding the soap with. I cringed and waited for his reaction. It was intense but brief.."Mama owww eye hot" I flushed his eye with water as quick as I could and tuff stuff was back to playing in no time! He says "hot" alot anyway mostly with association to the water temperature ..mostly to get a reaction out of me ..even if the water is COLD.

-Last but not least he's new favorite phrase to assert his independance is "no no no no no" accompanied by adamant head shake to let you now he means business. He says this ALOT when I ask for a bite of his food. It's hysterical. I know exactly where he gets this from!

Aunt Shane's Birthday!

Just woke up from a short little nap with Super. We spent the day dinning on a very yummy Mexican lunch in honor of one very special lady that we adore. Tomorrow is my Aunt Shane's birthday but we let the celebrations begin a day early. We had so much fun. I feel so blessed to have her in my life. I feel like I have a second mother. We talk almost daily and I never doubt that she's there for me when I need her. Her and Kal-el have the sweetest little relationship. He will kiss her on the computer screen but has not yet said her name. We are working on that! However, they also have almost daily phone conversations and Kal-el tells her stories about the dogs in his life. The conversations sounds alot like this "bow wow wow wow". At least on his end anyway :) Too cute! Zach made his mommy the most delicious cupcakes I think that I have ever tasted. I usually don't even care for chocolate but WOW maganifico! We may have to put him and Lea in charge of the baked birthday goods from now on. Today was a total success my only regret was that Chris Bear had to work and couldn't make it. I'll make sure he doesn't miss the next one though..because a certain little superhero I know will be turning 2! Happy happy Birthday Aunt Shane we love you so much!

Ahhhh STORMS!

I don't mind most storms...to the contrary I love them..as long as they are of the mild thunderstorm variety. Theres nothing like listening to the rain fall in a cozy house house curled up with a good book. Now throw the words "severe" or "tornado" into the mix and I literally go NUTSO. It becomes an entirely different story at that point. Last night was no expection. I had heard all day and even the previous day that "horrible baaaaaad" weather was heading our way. I think people in the south will sometimes even use this as a conversation piece...like its pleasant or something. I've even listened on ,completely bewildered, at some peoples verbal reactions post storm..."welp..we didnt geta thang"...Shouldn't you be THRILLED about this bubba? Geesh!
I could not of been any happier that Chris made it home last night by 8oclock. I made a yummy little lasagna dinner with salad, breadsticks, and finished it off with a blackberry cobbler just to try to take my mind off the impending doom of the angry weather outside. Chris, Kal-el, and even the dogs really could of cared less. After dinner Chris made his way upstairs to relax a little and play his 360. We usually all go upstairs together but I don't feel the need to tell you why I desired to be at the lowest level of the house. I sat stirring and festering in my own storm anxiety. Kal-el chose to go upstairs with his Daddy. It was fine for the moment because at this point we were just in "watch" status. I decided I would join them after a few minutes of no storm action. Everything was going just fine until I decided I needed to download a weather app to my phone. Bad idea. Almost simultaneously, the download informed me that we had just been upgraded to a "warning." Oh great...Here's me..."OMG OMG Chris ..there's one spotted in the area..we all need to be in the bathroom..OMG NOW!" I know Chris instantly resented upgrading my phone. He actually sent Super down with me and chose to stay behind for a few minutes to do what? Yes..he actually finished playing his round of Black Ops until I called out again in a state of panic for him to PLEASE come get in the bathtub. I was the only one that ever actually got in the tub. Chris only came into the bathroom because he actually had to USE it.lol  Kal-el was asleep on me while we/I waited anxiously for the magic number 10:45pm to arrive. Chris got bored and as soon as the coast was clear he stepped out for a little freash air and tv and wanted us to come relax with him. I stayed behind a few minutes before our "relaxation" got under way to see if I still liked the color of our bathroom. LOL Umm yea who am I kidding :) I emerged after about another ten minutes of hidding to spend the rest of the evening enjoying my boys' company in non panic mode. Thankfully and in all seriousness I'm just happy there was no harm done and this area was missed yet again by major damage! Glad its over with...I'm sure everyone around me is as well! :-)
Still waiting to come out....
These guys weren't phased :)
Neither was this guy :)

A Little Shopping For Logan...

I've spent alot of time shopping online for all of Kal-el's two year picture apparel. I can officially say that I found everything I was looking for and in all the right sizes...score! After my clothing mission was complete I realized that I hadn't purchased anything for baby brother Logan yet. I started thinking about his newborn pictures and how unique Kal-el's were with his Superman onesie and I knew that I  wanted to do something similar for Logan..I mean he's Wolverine afterall lol! I love the little croquet hats that everyone uses for newborn pictures but it seems like it's really getting overdone here lately plus you really have to find something just right for a little boy so that it's not feminine looking. So this weekend I was on another quest but this time for Logan. I wanted the perfect little hat to go along with his name so I'd have two unique superhero newborn pictures. I knew before I got started that I'd more than likely end up having to have one made. Luckily I found a lady on Etsy that was willing to do a custom Wolverine animal hat for Logan. I'm so excited..I've never been disappointed with the sellers on Etsy..really can't say enough good things about that site. So here are the first couple of items I've bought for Logan. I can't wait to have his little pictures made so I can order both prints in canvas and hang my little superheros beside each other in their rooms. :)

Happy Valentine's Day From The Borquez Family xoxo

Valentine's Day is such a fun holiday. Chris is the love of my life everyday so it's not that much of a different day for us. We do light, sweet, sentimental gifts and heart felt cards but nothing over the top..we usually save anything more extravagant for anniversarys  but I love all the fun theme'y' stuff for Kal-el's age. I try to make every holiday special for him while he's small because I want him to look back and have fun memories. Last night we exchanged our gifts and then had a fun little photo session. I have one traditional gift that I get Chris every year..its a certain kind of boxer with a certain candy on it. Finding a different pair every year is getting more challenging after 6 years of doing this. But its so fun/funny and it's our little inside joke based on a song I made up. :) Chris got me a few new Agatha Christie books to complete my collection. I think I have all of hers now yay! We also got our new phones as an early Valentine's day gift and I must say I've finally gotten used to mine and love it! As for Super he loaded up from the family and considering Mickey and Handy Manny toys made their way to our house he was one happy little boy on heart day! Logan even got to join in on the fun..even if he didn't know it! Happy Valentine's Day! XOXO
Mommy leaving kissy face prints! xoxo
