Sick Saturday..bye bye strawberries :(

Today started off much the same as any other Saturday. We lounged around and took it easy the first part of the day then Dada headed off for work and Mimsy, Kal-el and I prepared for our usual shopping and various other outings. We started off with lunch at Sweet Basil. My mom and I had a nice meal and Kal-el threw his usual mini fits for the strawberries on each of our plates. After our tummys where full we headed over to Books A Million. I've mentioned before how much I love books stores and since we don't have a Barnes & Noble (insert tears here) the B-A-M store has to do. I made a quick stop down the baby isle to see if they had a book I've been looking for, they didn't so we quickly headed over to the childrens books. Kal-el seemed anxious to get out of his stroller and play with the few little toys they had there so we obliged him. I few seconds later Mimsy had a camera out and was planning to snap a picture so I scoop up Super and we flash a smile...only something is different...then it hit me Kal-el just threw up ALL over me. I quickly put his feet on the ground and went to clean him up and comfort him. Then he does it again. Then again. Very scary. At first Mom and I assume that I had inadvertently performed the Heimlich on him. We checked my camera because this unfortunate moment was actually captured. There I am flashing every tooth in my head, not a care in the world in a vast sea of children's books then there is my beloved offspring held in my arms with his projectile vomit. Nice. I felt so bad that this moment was "captured" initially, then Mom had me absolutely convinced without a doubt that he was NOT sick and that I just pressed on his full tummy causing him to throw up. So I had a fleeting thought of putting it on the blog under "ways NOT to pick your child up" OR "places not to do the Heimlich". I came to my senses, thought there was a chance he could still be sick and of course deleted the picture. We all headed out of Books A Mil smelling not to great but with high spirits because Kal-el was acting just fine. We wrote it off as something he ate. He was even danceing in the car on way to TJ Maxx where we planned to replace his soured smelling outfit with a new one. I stayed in the car with my cute semi nekid ;) baby while Mimsy went to purchase the new threads. Again he was acting like he felt better than fine the entire time we waited. Mimsy walked back to the car outfit in tow and we changed him in the backsit. He looked fly. No sooner than we got five steps from the car it started again. We came back to the car and headed across the way to my husbands job. We agreed on Pedilite and monitoring the situation. Once we arrived home from the longest 25 min drive ever he had thrown up a total of 5 or 6 times. By the time sweet baby had stopped, he was very lethargic, pale , and his lips looked a bit blue. I called Chris home. I was very worried. He were going to take him to the ER to possibly get some fluids. My greatest fear at this point was dehydration. No sooner did Chris get home did Super seem to come to life and gradually start walking, running, and playing again. We decided that since he held the last bit of pedilite that I gave him down that we would just watch him. That was 4 hours ago. At this point he is running wild and even ate a full supper. He is back to normal with the exception of two things. One he walks a little crooked now...we suspect inner ear hince the cause of the vomiting..we will of course need a confirmation from Dr Melvin on Tuesday. The second thing? Good ol food aversion PSY 101...Munchkin now HATES his once favorite foods...Stawberries :(  I had already bought all the ingredients to make a yummy strawberry pie for our family's new Memorial Day tradition...a pie swap...more on this ..in the mean time pray sick Super continues to feel better!
Starting off normal..Breakfest and tv :)
Then came lunch..all was still well
"Come on Mommy! Do I take pictures of YOU
when you eat?!"
Laughing because he got caught sharing his food
with Ginger..a no no :)
Getting a quick nap before we all get going.
Note: Of all the beds, sitting places etc often times
we still pile up on each other instead...I know..sweet sweet
Sweet..but uncomfortable...nap lasted a good 15 min this time lol

A few hours later snacking on stawberries at Sweet Basil
Strawberry inspector
This is where it all started....
After the first round he still was up for a little danceing

Towel Mommy/Towel toddler ;)

So last night Kal-el actually refused to play without his shorts resting on top on his head. This was perplexing to say the least. Really, it was just a tiny bit weird. I can't imagine how my child would have ever had a weird/quirky gene ;) lol...He would actually cry and or loose his temper if we tried to remove his shirts off his head.  Super hero turned tropical shorts head man lasted a good 45 min before he relinquished them to us. Finally it hit me why he liked the idea of having something on his head. I'm not sure but I'm guessing it's because he sees Mommy's hair wrapped up in a towel after she washes it every other evening. How precious. Kal-el is so observent. He takes in EVERYTHING  and misses nothing not even my nightly girly regimens.
Why he would want to mimic this particular look
is completely beyond me :)

LOST-Series Finale

To say that I'm obsessed with LOST is a gross misrepresentation of the facts. Chris and I are huge fans. Just call us "Losties." Last night we said farewell to an EPIC event that was more than a tv show to its viewers. It was a unifying force of humanity shrouded in mystery and suspense. A matharon for the mind. In my best efforts at articulation I will never be able to do the show justice in any feeble description. that I could come up with. To those that don't watch the show it evokes snickers and labels such as "the people who never leave an island and deal with unrealastic events. To those of us who were in love this this brillant show it was so much more. It encompasses psychology, mystery, sociology, philosophy, mythology. It teased us with endless mysteries, metaphors, and foreshadowing. To even compare it to another show cheapens its greatness. It's been a 6 year span of television that will be greatly missed. Farewell LOST.  4 18 15 16 23 42
