Keeping up with Kal-el - December

It seems like Kal-el has picked up so many things this month. It's going to be hard for me to even try to list them all .....but here goes

-Sweet Super is turning into a handful..he have officially hit the "terrible twos"...BIG TIME :) Quite the challenge but tons of fun!

- He LOVES JUICE...and has a total FIT if  he sees us pour milk...this isn't to say he no longer wants his milk but he does have a preference and he has no problem letting us know!

- Kal-el is more independent then ever. He wants to do things himself no matter what it is...

-He has picked up sooo many new words just this month : He can name many of his body parts, he calls each of our pets by name, he says car, light (he loves lights ...we have to turn them on in the car for him sometimes), he is working on thank you...he loves Mickey Mouse and ask for him constantly..it sounds like "Kee Kee".

- He despises a high chair, hes not really crazy about a booster seat either...he would much rather sit at the table and attempt to peer over so he's more like the big people :)

- He has to have two stuffed animals of his choosing before he goes to bed at night...one of the pair is usually Mickey but another friend always joins.

-He LOVES bath time..If he walks anywhere near the bathroom and happens to think of it he will yell BATH! He usually gets one at his request :)

- Super now has a potty..with Elmo on it...we are about to enter into the wonderful world of potty training!
  Wish us lots of luck!!!

- And last but not least the most memorable Kal-el moment of December was Kal-el sliding down Santas leg into the floor screaming while other kids just stared and Santa looked more frightened than anyone...just incase anyone was wondering why we don't have a cute picture with Santa this year....its because munckin was crying at his feet and having the tantrum of the year :-)

Book of the Month- Our Night Before Christmas

This adorable fill- in- the blank personalised Christmas book was given to us by Aunt Shane earlier in the year so that we could document Christmas. I didn't get as much filled out as I wanted to but we will have this little treasure of a book to complete next year.  I wish I could find more books like this one. Personalised books are great for children.  It allows them to feel special and be interactive. Kal-el's favorite page was the one with the big Christmas tree with all of our family members written on it!

A Beautiful White Christmas!

What a wonderful suprise on Christmas morning! Beautiful white snow covered the ground everywhere in sight. I felt like a kid all over again when I woke up and saw it. Chris bear didn't believe me. He had to put on his contacts before he would accept the fact that we had a white Christmas in Alabama. We woke our sleeping toddler in an excited fashion to let him know that there were not only presents but snow! We all hurried down stairs to get warmer clothes on so Kal-el could enjoy the experience. He and Daddy headed out the door to play for a few minutes. Super seemed to really enjoy the snow. It became more evident when he screamed in protest when it was time to go back inside. He soon got over any sad/mad emotions when he eyed all of the toys that awaited him. His little face was priceless as he tore into all of his presents. We had just as much fun watching him light up with each gift.
After we had Super content and playing I headed to the kitchen to start my breakfest burritos. This year our Christmas meal was brunch at Aunt Shane's house. We have had brunch one other time over the years and thought it would be nice to do it again. I can't believe I didn't take a picture of the breakfest goodies. I'm always so good about doing that! We had all sorts of wonderful items like sausage casseroles, biscuits, breakfest burritos, fresh fruit with cream cheese, Mom's wonderful blueberry scones with lemon curd etc. Yummy! But the best part of all was of course the family time. If there were little or no food or no presents it would still be Christmas of the people we love and the fact that we know the true meaning of this special day. I feel so blessed now that I'm a mommy and have my own little famile everyday seems a little like Christmas. :)
Merry Christmas from the Borquez Family xoxo
