Go Ducks, Go Jets, Go Kal-El!

I knew that Kal-El enjoyed baseball. A lot. Well all of it with the exception of the "yep" chant. ;) I still was not prepared for how much he would fall in love with football. He's obsessed. He ask me everyday if he has practice...and most days I have to say yes bc we practice all the time it seems. I dont mind bc its something that he's already fallen in love with. Once he finishes nailing down the fundamentals of the game he's going to be amazing. I can tell he's still a little confused about some of the concepts so he needs to build confidence and have guidance there but he's fearless when it comes to contact. When Chris and I try to give him pointers at home he will not listen to us. It has to come from the coaches bc he's stubborn lol. What we have tried to tell him is that tackles are alot like take downs in jiu jitsu. K is the youngest in the class so therefor the smallest. He has ZERO issues taking anyone down. He's a little beast :) He's just got to cross reference the two sports. He did at first and we told him to stop bc he was still wrestling on the ground after the play was over. We just have to help him understand the reference so he's some where in the middle. I'm impressed with his strength but more impressed with his kindness. During the jamboree game he told me there was one kid he couldnt tackle. It wasnt that he couldnt. He wouldnt. The other boy didnt have a mouth guard in. lol Someone has my heart. Sweet boy. He's #50. 5 for is age...and 0 to rep the Oregon 'O'!
His first official game was Saturday morning. Chris and I woke up to a scare.. Kal-El couldn't move his head or neck at all. He woke screaming out in pain from a sound sleep. I was terrified for him. It was scary. His reaction was so extreme I seriously thought he had meningitis. We ended up heading to the ER even though after a dose of pain reliever I almost knew it was how he slept bc it started to only hurt when he looked left and his pain was movement based. He argued with the ER doctor (that said it wouldnt hurt him further to play but might make him more uncomfortable so he prob should sit this one out) thru tears and said he was "playing football anyway". They gave him additional Motrin and left it up to us. I really didnt want him to play but I could tell I was not going to be able to stop him. Pain and all he played. At water break I asked him if he needed to stop and he got mad. LOVES. FOOTBALL. He did great. His neck is all the way better now :)
He's still a duck fan also but he has a new #1 team in his life. The Jets. Yep. No idea where that comes from other than he likes the logo and loves the color green. No one else in this house likes the jets but he doesnt care. Thats HIS team. He has a hat he wears all the time...whether it matches or not lol! He tells me he's going to play for the Jets....next year. Hope they are ready for him :D Logan loves going and watching his big brother. He, Chris and I are already his biggest fans! Go Super! #50 Aaaaaand we have a little surprise planned for him. He may get to go see his Jets play! Of all the pro games to go to LOL! We obviously love him immeasurably going to see the Jets lol!

Super Loves School!

Our schedules are kind of crazy right now! We are definitely busy these days. I meant to update earlier on school but I just really havent had the time. We finally have a routine in place though. I am so proud to say that Kal-El is doing great in school and absolutely LOVES it. I really cant empathize the word enough. He never has a problem getting up early and cant wait to get there. He asked me if he could go on Saturday. Umm no! lol. I really like his teacher after getting to know her a little. That is saying a lot for me bc we all know how I can be...especially regarding my children. It has nothing to do with wanting them coddled ...bc I dont. There are just certain things Im pretty rigid about when it comes to education and childcare. So far, I am more than pleased with both the school and his awesome teacher. Super loves his class and loves learning. He has a best friend named Carson. I hear about him almost daily. K's teacher said he was a very fast learner and she was very surprised that he was not in preschool prior. He really does absorb new information like a sponge. I love going thru his class work every day in his little folder. I pretty much HAVE to find out anything bc he HATES when I ask him questions. He would honestly rather Chris pick him up when he's not on a train so he doesnt have to endue 20 questions from helicopter mom! For the first few days I walked him up to the door and he finally asked me to please drop him off in the line. He loves being his own little person so Im having to learn to let go just a bit. I'm relieved he not only adjusts well but embraces the new experience.
I swore when he started that I probably wouldn't do much PTO stuff but I really think I'll enjoy it also :) I came up with the theme for the auction baskets this year for the kindergarteners and cant wait to put it together! Hopefully Kal-El wont mind me being up there to help with the crafty stuff since its actually what I do! Kal-El's teacher had the most parents attend the first PTO meeting so her class won a party. Not a huge deal but it was to K bc their special treat was the Kona Icy Truck. My child is OBSESSED with that truck ever since it came thru our neighborhood. He came to the car saying it was "the best day ever." He has had great behavior and smiles every day also. He's so strong willed and I was bit concerned but always does really well for other adults. He's kind and respectful and I didnt have to beat him to get him to be that way .LOL Sorry, I had to. I look so forward to when he's able to read along with me. They are working on site words and Im really amazed at how much he knows already. Two thumbs up for school!!!
Here are just some pictures from the week. I'll try to take more this next week. K and I take a picture every Friday together before he gets out the car. Its our little thing.
He loves library day. I bet we end up with every bug, snake, and frog book there!
