Happy Easter 2011

I could hardly believe yesterday was Easter Sunday! Things really have a way of creeping up on you during the last trimester of pregnancy. I finished up Kal-el's Easter table at the last minute this year but I still wanted it to be memorable for him. I must admit that I had to incorporate some store bought treats in the mix and forgo my orginal plans of home making his goodies. I don't think Super could of been any happier though..and besides who's ever heard of a BAD cupcake!? Kal-el woke up early and fell in LOVE with all of his Easter babies. He didn't know what to play with first! He was in sensory overload :) Afterwards Chris and I loaded him up and headed out to church so we could hear a wonderful message about the true meaning of Easter. We were not disappointed. It was a touching sermon and Kal-el managed to stay well behaved throughout it's entirety. I was thrilled that he didn't have to go to the nursery. I hope we can make this a habit. I really miss our church family. Chris's schedule makes it much more difficult for us to attend regularly. I feel so blessed that he was off yesterday and able to take Super and I to church on Easter. Following service it was obvious that Kal-el was due for his early afternoon nap. Our family made it's usually trip over to Fiesta. We had planned on joining them of course, but as soon as we got in the car Superman was OUT. We decided to ride for a bit then the three of us had a late lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings. I didn't realize how much I'd miss the rest of our family! I'm telling you there is no way I could live far away from loved ones. Fortunately, once we got to the restaurant we were able to enjoy the company of the Rhodes family and we had such a nice time. My husband who is usually VERY acclimated to ALL things spicy..(I mean this human can eat wasabi by the spoon fulls when we have Asian cuisine) got absolutely OWNED by their blazin' wings. He was in PAIN. Bless his heart. I felt bad for a minute but his reaction was so intense I had to crack up a little. Luckily, he recovered fast and we headed home for a little Easter egg hunting.
Mom and Larry made their way over with some eggs and we laid a few out and let the fun begin. Kal-el had a blast and so did we! Aunt Shane also came over later in the evening to see Kal-el since she didn't get to earlier at lunch. Super was so happy to see her. They did the Mickey Mouse Hotdog dance together several times before she left. After a long very happy Easter the Borquez family ordered some pizza, snuggled together in our jammies to watch movies and called it a night!
Super's Choo Choo basket..notice Alvin..he LOVES the chipmuncks now! Calls them MUCKS :)
Yay..it's Elmo, Mickey, and "Monster"

Kal-el's Two Year Prints :)

I was so excited to pick up our two year prints from Captured Studios today. I ordered a 20 x 24 canvas of our favorite shot of Super. It turned out awesome and I can't wait to get it hung in the living room! Well for Chris to hang it properly I should say. I did a test run and...eh not so great results..then again thanks to sweet baby Logan my balance is a little off at  present! ;) Kal-el was obviously very impressed with his picture also. He showered himself with lots of kisses. Chris Junior..all the way lol! I also ordered several 9x12's for his portfolio and they turned out great as well. Here's a few shots of Super checking out his new picture :)

Kal-el Visits the Easter Bunny!

This themed visit went so much better than his visit with Santa. He was still a little frozen up when it came time to actually sit on the furry creature BUT there was no hitting nor sliding to the floor this time for Super. I thought he'd be in LOVE with the idea of a big stuffed bunny since he adores all things plush but I suppose it's all a bit overwhelming if for nothing else the sheer size of bunny foo foo. I purchased the little package so I could snap some shots myself. I managed to get two takes before he was completely over fur ball.  Since we got NO shots of Santa enduring my son I consider two shots with the Easter Bunny a total success. Enjoy!
