Kal-El loves animals and ever since we rented the movie We Bought A Zoo he's been asking to go. Yesterday he got his wish! Chris, myself, Mom, Larry, and the little superheros made an entire day of it at the Memphis Zoo. I was really pleased with the zoo itself. It was definitely worth the additional few miles from the Birmingham zoo. Kal-El was so excited the night before that he continuously asked if he could "pet all animals" or if the "animals could come to his house"! I'm happy to report that he wasn't the least bit disappointed once we arrived and neither were we. He was interactive, inquisitive, social, and well behaved the entire 6 hours we walked the zoo grounds. He did not want in the stroller with Logan. He never slowed down ...WE had to keep up with him. I really don't see how he wasn't exhausted because we sure were! He was a little possessive of the zoo however. I overheard him say more than once "This is MY zoo, look thats's MY elephant, polar bear etc lol! I don't have to tell you how precious Logan was..he didn't fuss not one time, really enjoyed the outing, and even noticed an animal or two :) It was a perfect day at the zoo. As we were
dragging walking back to the car Kal-El said "lets go find another zoo next" We will have to take the boys to another zoo sometime this summer. I look forward to doing lots of little trips this summer instead one big one. We will be headed out to Oregon in October to visit friends and family so the boys will get lots of adventures in this year! :)
Quick, much needed COFFEE stop :)
You guys sing SO loud!
No more pics please...lol
Finally in line at the zoo..
First animal of the day :)
Logan and his favorite animal...the Panda...we had to decide for him. Kal-El thinks he looks like one :)
Trying to eat what the pandas eat lol
Mommy's favorite animal...I have countless books on Elephants...and no it doesn't have a thing to do with football. These animals are amazing and have as much emotional depth as humans. They are capable of acquiring PTSD after encounters with poachers. :( They are AMAZING creatures!
Look! A "Ralph!!!"
Larry's favorite animal
Sticking his tongue out at me!
