Kal-el Meets Brooke!

Kal-el was introduced to Larry's adorable granddaughter, Brooke this past week. I think it's safe to say he *loved* spending time with her. I can see why..she is an absolute doll and I can't wait to watch them play again. Kal-el attempted to give her a  little kiss several times. She blocked his many advances. Good girl Brooke :) He eventually settled for sitting very close to her on the couch. I can't wait to meet the rest of Larry's family. Maybe Brooke and I can go shopping next time she's here. We already have two things in common..we love shoes and HATE storms. Luckily we only had a few hours of bad weather here...I was unfortunate enough to drive home right in the middle of the worst part...I even left Chris an I love you farewell ...please take care of our baby voicemail because I couldn't reach him..umm yes...slightly dramatic I know..ok very LOL ;) Our sweet visitor helped turn the day around though!
New Buddies!
Watching McCoy play outside
He couldn't stand it any longer lol :)
Brook couldn't get a moments peace from Romeo ;)
Being two must be exhausting bc little man grabbed my blanket, walked over to the couch and took a nap all by himself without any fuss..going to cross my fingers that this becomes a habit!

Kal-el's 2 Year Check Up

Kal-el's two year appointment and immunizations with Dr. Melvin yesterday was quite eventful! You didn't expect anything less did you? ;) I can't tell you how happy I was that both Chris and my mom joined me for the appointment. I know the highlight for Chris was hearing that Super is still Super sized. He's in the mid 90th percentile for both weight and height. I wasn't suprised my back knows this to be true! He managed to show out in true Kal-el form for all the staff once again. He initially refused to leave the well childrens lobby because there is a toy in there that has LOTS of magnetic BUGS on it. He is still crazy about bugs...he chanted "bug bug" all the way back to the exam room...very loudly. Once we entered the room he gladly striped down to his diaper and then got totally naked and pranced around. I had to go out to the lobby to ask Mimsy to bring us another diaper. She brought it back to the room and Kal-el had such a fit for her to stay that he literally threw himself to the floor and busted a little place on his lip. He's so physical that it scares me. What in the world am I going to do with TWO little wild men! He looked like a boxer by the time Dr. Melvin walked in. He was a perfect angel while being examined. Dr. Melvin even stated that most of the time the 2 yr olds won't sit still for the exam. This was hilarous to me bc he had obviously missed the tornado that just plowed thru his entire office. I laughed and let him know that this was the calm AFTER the storm. I, of course, asked several questions that were neuteric in nature. Chris just stared at me like he does..it was quite funny.....Question #1 .."His head seems a little knotty, lumpy and ridge 'y' is this normal?" Poor Chris..little did he know it was about to get worse. Totally normal head woot woot! Question #2 His boy parts seems to bother him a bit ...could he just be more aware of it since we're potty training?" At this point Chris looked mortified. Dr. Melvin smiled and laughed and assured us that we just have a little boy. "It's just another toy..he's fine" I laughed and said "Oh thats wonderful ..looks like we can save money on Christmas presents this year!" Dr. Melvin laughed so hard and looked embarrassed. Ackward, good times with the Borquez bunch. Super will be so embarrassed of this post one day. It's ok little buddy..just the facts of life. We are happy you are normal, healthy, and full of personality. Next appointment...Kal-el's first trip to the dentist..maybe he wont have to go in a stright jacket like I did when I was little...yes I'm serious..he gets his passion naturally...umm I think perhaps we will wait a month or so to schedule it. I need at least that long to recover from these last two appointments :)
Playing with the "BUGS" pre appointment
Ready for his exam :)
Getting into trouble in my purse while Dada fills out paperwork!
He's obsessed with doctors chairs on wheels..luckily he didn't wheel it out this time!
Uh oh ..he found a debit card :)
Mean shot! He was a big boy though! :)

28 Week Appointment!

Well I've officially hit my 3rd trimester!  Yes!!!I couldn't be happier about it being the last stretch of this pregnancy journey! Yesterday Chris, Kal-el, Mimsy and myself all made our way over to the OBGYN to check on sweet baby Logan..or as Super now says.."Lo-Gee" :) Everything looked great and thankfully I'm not suffering from gestational diabetes. I chose the "fruit punch" flavor for the test and I must say that I handled it much better than the "orange" I opted for during my pregnancy with Super. Eww..still a vivid memory! The sugary drink did make me feel a bit rough this time around. I was so afraid that might mean something but my numbers were perfect according to the AMAZING nurse who drew my blood..seriously didn't even feel it. She might just be the very best "blood drawer" I've ever had! The most entertaining part of the entire visit would be the antics of Super toddler. This child was in EVERYTHING! Mom tried ..key word being tried ..to sit in the lobby with Kal-el but he wasn't having it. He was up and down the hallway banging on the various doors that housed naked women getting exams saying "Momma and Daddy?" Momma Momma Dadddy..Hello?" The nurses were laughing so hard. Once he found us we decided to just let him stay back in the room in the hopes he'd be quiet. FAIL. As soon as Mimsy left the room to go back to the lobby he yelled "Bridget!" over and over. He then proceeded to follow her by opening the door himself but not before he could grab the doctors chair and roll it out of the room. A nurse tried to get the chair and Super giggled at her and said "no no no no no chair."  Dr. Musgrove smiled sweetly at him and said that was the fastest child  he had seen in his life! He informed me of nothing new lol. Soon there after rottenness was taken to the CAR. I tried to get a picture but we were much too busy chasing him. I think Super will stay home for the next visit ;) Heres the single shot I got of the back of his head as he attempted to journey behind the curtain where blood is drawn. Niiiiice :)

Kal-El's 2 year Pictures- Sneak Peek

We always use Captured Studios when they have their limited edition promotions through out the year. They have always done such an amazing job that we decided to use them this year for Kal-el's official 2 year pictures. Last year we used Heather Mitchell and could not of been happier but Captured is just a lot closer to home and I adore the ladies that work there. I know that we will continue to use both of these talented photographers in the future. Captured does a sneak peek on facebook of  4 of the pictures from a session. It turned that three of their choices were our favorites of Super as well. I will have to say that my very favorite didn't make the cut but I plan on ordering a large canvas of it so stay turned. I can't wait to post it when it comes in! In the mean time here are our other 3 favorites!

One Smart Cookie!

You can't get anything past this Mr Smarty pants toddler! We are still trying to rid our home of all the left over Birthday goodies...whew that was alot of sweet stuff and we really don't need it here at the house. The last thing I need is gestational diabetes and extra poundage and the very last thing Super needs is more ENERGY! I was attempting to tidy the kitchen and clear out the rest of the calorie filled treats when Kal-el told me it was bath time. I went ahead a drew a bath for him complete with bubbles and we made one last trip to the kitchen before his bedtime routine got underway. Thats when I realized that I had left an *ALMOND FAVORED* Mickey cookie behind. That reaction to anything almond is not just in my pregnancy state I could drink Almond flavoring...we will blame that one on my first taste of The Victorian Tea petite fors a few years ago. I decided I would partake in this guilty pleasure since it was the last the sweets. I devoured it then headed to the bath with Super. Once I got him in he was doing his usual splashing around and begging for more bubbles. He started giggling and I was laughing with him. That's when he noticed my tongue. It was black...from the icing on his cookie. He looked so upset and I thought for a split second he was concerned for my health because my tongue looked funny and my lips were a little black as well. Little did I know that concerned toddler stare was his little brain putting together the pieces of a puzzle. He teared up a little and then started to scream "MY COOKIE, MY COOKIE..MAMA MY COOKIE" He was all to pieces..my poor baby...fatty Mc preggars ate my sons very last cookie. I felt so bad but he forgot about it as soon as I introduced a new bath toy. Just call me the real life cookie monster ;)
