Kal-el Visits the Easter Bunny!

This themed visit went so much better than his visit with Santa. He was still a little frozen up when it came time to actually sit on the furry creature BUT there was no hitting nor sliding to the floor this time for Super. I thought he'd be in LOVE with the idea of a big stuffed bunny since he adores all things plush but I suppose it's all a bit overwhelming if for nothing else the sheer size of bunny foo foo. I purchased the little package so I could snap some shots myself. I managed to get two takes before he was completely over fur ball.  Since we got NO shots of Santa enduring my son I consider two shots with the Easter Bunny a total success. Enjoy!

30 Week "Logee" Checkup/ Pregnancy Comparisons

I go for my OB check ups every two weeks now. Time is really starting to fly.  Baby Logan or as Ka-el says "Logee" looks great! He's measuring just barely over 30 weeks. I asked Dr. Musgrove if there was a difference in the size of this baby since Kal-el always measured a good 4 weeks or more ahead. He told me that I was carrying VERY low (which has been pretty obvious to me and my bladder lately) and that the measuring system is an art not a science. It was explained to me that a baby will usually sit further down in the uterus because it's more roomy the second time around. This can throw off a measurement from the outside especially as low as Logan is. He said he doesn't expect Logan to be any smaller than his big brother and possibly even bigger! He said he wanted to do an ultrasound around 37 weeks to check his size and make sure he's not running out of room. We will be having our 4d ultrasound done before this (32 or 33 weeks) so we may get an idea of his growth rate at that time. Kal-el and Mimsy joined me for the visit. I must brag on Super a little and share the fact that he was a good boy for this appointment. Yay Super! I hope he can keep this up. I would love for him to be able to see "Logee" during the 4D.
I feel the need for documentation purposes to share some of the differences in this pregnancy and my last one so here goes :
Cravings : I love love CHERRY flavor this last trimester. I normally don't even like cherries. I am also WILD about little Krystal burgers. My poor baby is subject to this nutritional meal often. I still also love egg sandwiches just not as much I did during my first trimester. I also crave grape kool aid..yummy. With Kal-el I only wanted pop tarts and WHOLE milk!

Smells:  I swear I'm like a wolf during pregnancy..I can smell things from what smells like miles away..literally. With both pregnancies I've been super sensitive to the smell of ANYTHING burning. This time around I can NOT stop smelling Gain washing powder. I feel like a drug addict ..its pitiful..I literally can't stop! lol

Feelings :  I will have to say that I'm a good bit more anxiety prone this go round. Those of you around me on a daily basis are probably laughing really hard right now at the truth in this statement. What can I say I'm a Mommy that now has two sweet little people to worry about now...mix that with hormones and wah-lah!

General Health : I feel much better physically this time around then last. I have not had the blood pressure problems to contend with and I'm so so thankful. Since Logan is so low my lungs have had a nice break and I haven't had to deal with the heartburn symptoms nearly as much. I have also managed to gain less weight than last time which I think has helped me to feel better.

Apperance : I look very pregnant now that I've hit the last trimester. Since I have a toddler to chase I'm very regrettably incorporating yellow box sandles with my existing heels. I refuse to give them up all the way. If you know me you know this small transition kills my soul. :)  At the risk of sounding crude or common I must say that my boobs are out of control and I'm not happy about it. At the rate I'm going I'll be in an E cup by the time I deliver. I'm so NOT thrilled about this. As stated early Logan is sitting much lower than Kal-el.

And lastly, the biggest difference with this pregnancy is the fact that I'm already a mommy this time. I had no idea how much I'd love the little life that was growing in me nor how much I would enjoy all the different mile stones and developmental stages. Now I most certainly know all the love, joy, and excitement I'll get to experience for the second time. I also am prepared for the challenging newborn sleepless nights phase. It won't all be a surprise this time and I can't wait to experience brothers! :-)
Carrying low with my Krystals & Gain LOL
Super at my appointment today
Really wanting to get into something!
He refused to keep his shoes on..I'm just glad he didn't take his clothes
off like he does at home!

Potty Training...The Beginning!

Well the potty training journey has begun and I must say we are off to a pretty good start! Now with my luck as soon as I have typed the above statement we are almost guaranteed to start a downhill spiral but I'm keeping high hopes. I know that technically we are attempting full blown potty training just a bit early being that Super just turned two, however, my goal is just to get him familiar with it. I know that if I make too big a deal out of it he will totally rebel against me and HATE the potty so its baby steps for now. He will still pee pee in his diaper but perfers to pee pee in his Elmo potty. He has also pooped in his big boy potty and is not ok at all with having that variety of mess in his diaper. We plan on continuing to encourage him with each successful trip in a way that doesn't run it in the ground. I'm sure it will be a lot of trial and error. I plan on refering to books like I always do. They funniest part of his training has been that he thinks he needs to be TOTALLY naked to use his potty. Thats usually my first indication that we need to get to the potty ASAP. :) Wish us luck!

Fun Friday!

Yesterday was just an all around great day. It was one of those days where all the little things came together so nicely. Chris and I got up early before we had to be at work and made a trip to Wal-mart to pick up some baby items for Logan. We were able to find a great pack-n-play. I seriously wish we had one in every room! After we got all of our shopping done it was close to 9:15..I have to be at work at 10 so I kissed the hubby bye and headed to Hobby Lobby then on to work. I had been wanting to look at their easter baskets after Aunt Shane told me they had an adorabe Choo Choo Train basket. When I walked in I spotted it right away..it was the last one AND it was 50% off..SCORE! :) Off to a great start here!
Once I got to work Chris called me to let me know he had time to take Mccoy to the vet for his last round of puppy shots before he got called out. I anxiously awaited his follow up call to see how our furr baby's visit played out. Dr. Bonner said he was the picture of health and weighs in at a whopping....drom roll.....62lbs!! WHAT?! Good grief. Furr kid is only 14 weeks old and possibly the biggest baby I've ever seen. He hates storms like his mommy and tries to back into my pregnant non exsistant lap for comfort. He's still very much a puppy. I'm so happy and relieved that ALL our pets are good for a year and even more happy that Chris had enough time to take him. It's not fun taking pets to the vet with a toddler while pregnant. We would have to look like a circus coming in!
Chris got his call to head out to Memphis at 2:15, which means I would barely miss getting to see him off since my work schedule runs from 10-2. Sad face. Or so I thought. About an hour into his shift Chris text me to tell me that his train would be stopped at a local track for about 30 min or longer. This never happens. Super's face was priceless when I told him we were taking a little drive to see Daddy on the train. We hopped in the car and off we went to see Chris bear and the choo choo. When we pulled up Chris was getting off the train and Kal-el spotted him immediately. Wow he's got some lungs! "DADDY!!!" He was overcome with excitement. I pulled up and Chris walked over to the car and was able to hold Kal-el and talk for a little while. The trains engineers wife was also on her way with their 2 year old son. So sweet :) We sat and chatted briefly while we waited for the other train to pass and then it was time to go. NOT ok with Kal-el AT ALL. He cried so hard for Chris that I almost cried to. I was finally able to calm him down and we headed home for a dinner with Mom and Larry at Rosie's.
When we pulled back in the driveway they were already there waiting for us. Car seat in, ready to go! Kal-el was still a little fussy but Larry had the perfect fix. BUGS! A huge bag full of plastic bugs . A car ride would of been impossible without these crawly lifesavers! My child adores bugs. I'm terrifed of them. The next few years should be really interesting. As we made our way to the resturant we had to cross the same tracks where Chris's train was stopped. We pulled up just in time to see the train pull off for its journey west. Kal-el was precious and no longer upset. He waved and blew kisses to his daddy and yelled "Choo Choo Twain!" We had a pleasant car ride all the way to the resturant. I told you this was a great day.
Super sat in his seat and ate all of his food at Rosie's...so did his Mommy lol :) He didn't act up a single time. I was very proud of him. After dinner we rode around for a bit and looked at some houses. Mom and Larry are looking to buy after they get married in July. When we arrived back at home it was nearing Kal-el's bedtime but he still was not grumpy just very cuddly :) Just as we were about to call it a night and head upstairs to bed I noticed a package at the door. I open the door and brought it in. Super and I sat down to open it together. Sweet Logan was not forgotten today. Aunt Sandra had sent him an adorable baby chef outfit complete with a chefs hat..one of the cutest things I'd ever seen. We text our love and goodnight wishes to Daddy and off to bed we went. It's all the little things that count. What a beautiful Friday :)
Telling Daddy he's on his way to see him :)

It's Daddy!
