Time to go underground again! Yesterday we had some really ugly storms come thru our area. We were rated a 7 out of 10 on the Tor Con scale. After April I no longer feel safe in a regular site built home..I NEED to be underground with my little people. The first round of severe weather came thru on Wednesday but it wasn't as bad as anticipated and actually completely missed our area . However, we were told even BEFORE Wednesday that Friday's system would pack a much bigger punch so Wednesday ended up not being as big of a relief as it could of been. We had a scary follow up round to focus on. I make a point to stay educated about the weather. I've even earned the nick name "weather girl:" on facebook because I really try to inform others as early as possible. I find that because most of the meteorologists are stationed out of Huntsville their viewing area gets a little more of the focus. Often times I feel that we get shorter notice. I watch the live radar like a hawk, from my home computer, phone you name it. My husband thinks I'm a little crazy but because he loves me/us he always goes willingly to the various underground locations I assign to our family :)
Yesterday we took shelter with with Mom and Larry at their church annex building. It's probably the absolute safest place we could of been. It has a basement thats a good two stories down or more and because its an old bank building it also has a vault room. The walls are unbelievably thick. I was finally able to relax once we got there but the ride over wasn't quite as fun. It was originally forecasted for our area to begin getting unstable in the late afternoon hours. I'll be honest I KNEW it would be here sooner. They didn't expect for the earlier storms that came thru in the morning ahead of the cold front to be very severe but Madison got slammed and actually went into Tornado emergency status. I listened and watch all of it on the radar and it appeared that these were very fast forming systems. Eventually they changed the time once again and informed us that the air would begin to get increasingly unstable between 1-2. We were packed up and ready to leave at 12:45. Even then the sky looked disturbing. I called mom so many times she said she lost count in my effort to try to get her to hurry up and get to the church. I told her more than once that I thought the system would arrive early. I'm not sure if she thinks I'm just a hypochondriac or needs a man to tell her before she believes it lol but it was bad out. She's just never been scared of weather and I'm terrified of it. She and Larry informed me when they arrived that they thought they saw it forming. Seriously, if I had of been in that car someone would of probably psychically needed to knock me out :) I immediately forgave her once she arrived. How can you be mad when someone comes bearing pimento cheese sandwiches, hunny buns, cookies and an array of snack foods to weather the storm! That was probably more Larry's idea but it was awesome :) We ended up staying there from 2:00 to a little after 7:30. Kal-el had a blast with the other children there. He played non stop the entire time. Chris said if for no other reason it was worth it to go so Super could get some interacting time. The peace of mind was worth it to me! Of course sweet Logan barely made a peep while we sought shelter. Best baby...truly :)
We ended the evening of a perfect note. Larry and Mom invited us over for the best spaghetti and best strawberry pie I've ever tasted. We sat around watched Kal-el play, got Logan to sleep and with full tummies and heavy eye lids we made our way back home to our pets. I'm so thankful that no one was hurt in our area. I know there were lives lost in in other states. Over 14 in Larry's home state of Kentucky. So happy that his family are all unharmed as well. I'm so relieved that we have a very safe place to take shelter in the event of bad weather. It's Spring...tornado season...I have a feeling we'll be eating cookies and sandwiches there a few more times before summer!
I LOVED how the screen was projecting waff48 weather when we arrived :)

Keeping Up With Kal-el- February :)
My first baby boy will be 3 in less than a month. He gets, smarter, funnier, and more loved by the day. Like always I'm sure I'll leave some stuff out but I want to recall as much as I can and share :)
- Kal-el is 100% potty trained. Once we started he never looked back. He even places the potty seat over the larger one by himself. As a matter of fact he's so independent he does everything by himself when he's there..Chris and I aren't even allowed in the room or even allowed to pick out his underwear!
- He takes Superhero vitamins everyday (how appropriate right?) except he doesn't call them vitamins...he refers to them as "ornaments". He started taking them right after Christmas. They are round, kind of sparkly on the outside so I see where he gets this...its pretty cute.
- He also LOVES Superheros now : He's favorite is probably Batman at the moment. Superman and Green Lantern are a close second! It's unreal how many of their names he knows. I couldn't be more proud lol!
- He's doing lots of pretend play now...mainly with Pluto :) He always asks him what he wants to eat or drink and replies for him. I've noticed a trend...if its especially yummy food Pluto will often say "No fanks" LOL
-He also loves to pretend to take my order. He always asks "You need a diet coke Mommy?"
- When Chris leaves for work Super gets mad now..he will often ask him to "wait" or say "don't put on shoes Daddy, no train" its pitiful. He will even refuse to hug or kiss his Daddy bye. But every time he finally makes his way to the door and down the drive way...without fail....Kal-el stares at his trunk out the window and sweetly says "Bye bye Daddy, Kal-el see you later" and then blows a kiss out the window.
-He is more loving and interacting than ever with Logan. He's super encouraging when Logan makes crawling attempts. He tells him things like "Good job Logan...yay Logan" and pats his head or smiles sweetly at him <3
- Super also likes to help dress Logan and pick out which baby food he eats every night. Sometimes he demands to feed his little brother. Luckily, he usually gets bored after a few bites and ask me to finish feeding him. He also HAS to prepare his bottles for him. His favorite part is shaking the bottle. :)
- He may look more like Chris but Kal-el is me made over. We have the same personality. He is so passionate, strong willed, and neurotic. I have zero questions where that combo comes from lol.
-He's so smart. He knows all of his shapes. We were driving one day and he informed me that the object I was inquiring about was NOT a stop sign but an octagon. We've only shown him shapes on our phones maybe three times. He picks up so fast on new things.
- His level on mischievousness is at an all time high. We sometimes feel like we are raising Dennis the Menace! He loves to squirt water on Chris with his bath toys when he's sleeping and even tries to color on our faces with crayons. If we wake up and seem upset about it ..He starts patting us and says "Aww its ok Mommy/Daddy" Its hard to decide whether to scold him or laugh at times because he's theatrical and fun loving.
- He loves to take things apart and see how they work. If he finds a random or strange looking object he always asks me "Where that come from Mommy?"
- He LOVES girls. Alot lol....Whenever their are women of tv that he likes he always says "Hey pretty gurls or hi Mommies" Adorable !
- He's a dare devil. Everything is a slide or something to stack and jump off of. True boy. He's fearless and I often how many bones of his might just end up in a sling or cast on day.
-He's very compassionate about others "boo boos" I cut my finger one day last week and he immediately started asking if I was ok...followed by finding me a band-aide and some antibiotic cream. Sweet baby.
These last two stories are my favorite from this month :
- Kal-el and I were watching the Westminster dog show last week. Super was counting the dogs as they came across the screen and cheering them on. He got quiet at one point and I could tell he was thinking. He then declared " Ginger beat up all dogs" Ginger is our only female dog. She's a golden retriever mixed breed. She's very protective of home, is easily agitated by other animals, and wishes she was an only dog. She is very much loved but because of her slightly robust attitude she is sometimes the center of jokes. Without thinking I laughed and made an off the cuff remark..."yep Ginger probably would beat those pretty dogs up she's trashy" Kal-el took such joy in me saying this..even though he had no clue I was being rude. He started proclaiming "Aww hey Ginger trash" He thinks its a term of endearment. The other night he kissed Pluto before bed and I heard him tell his plush best friend..."I love Pluto, Pluto trash" Hilarius :)
- Kal-el was getting ready for church this past Sunday...half naked and standing in front of the mirror smiling and flexing..unaware anyone was watching..
Kal-el : singing "I cute I cute I SOOOOO CUUUUUTEEE"
Me: Son thats not very modest of you.
K: "I'm not modest ..I cuuuuuuuute." "I shake my booty now..go away"
LOL

Operation SpongeBob Take 1
Yesterday Mom, Larry, the boys and I made a trip to Huntsville to visit Party City! We went in search of a Sponge Bob costume for Larry. We had no such luck in that department but I did manage to score in two other areas. We got to meet up with my best friend Beth for lunch at Macaroni Grill. She is over 5 months pregnant with Zoey and looks so adorable :) After lunch we headed off to Party City. I LOVE party planning. Buying all the character merchandise is the easy part. Definitely not the cheap part but the easiest. I literally wiped out the Sponge Bob isle. We had tons of fun. I was piling so much stuff in the cart left and right and not really stopping to add everything up that I went way over budget and almost passed out as the cashier was ringing me up. In a way I'm glad I got it out of the way because it had to be bought regardless and my only other major purchases left is my cake stand. Chris had to work yesterday. It may of been a little much for him to deal with anyway ;) And I bet Etsy gets permanently blocked from our computer after this year. It's almost exactly one month remaining until its party time and I have it on the brain. This is so sad....I hate to even share it but I literally had a nightmare last night that we were headed to the facility about 5 cars deep FILLED with party decor lol( the cars filled part will be a reality, I hope my family members will pick up their phones after reading this haha) and we were locked out of the facility. Pathetic I know but I was SO upset. Speaking of my sweet family I'm hoping we can have a craft night soon to knock out some of the DIY projects. I have cupcake stands and picture frames to paint and a huge backboard for the cake table to work on and find fabric for. I have a lot of work cut out for me and a month and a few days to get it done. No pressure :) At least I will have a good 5 weeks to transition from the yellow sponge to a big furry hungry beast with unstable eyes who worships cookies. Logan's cookie monster party is up next but in the mean time the Sponge Bob theme song will play over and over in my head!
Yummy lunch with Beth!
Super loves their bread aka Rosemary loaf lol
I mean really loves it!
Going crazy at the party store :)
A tired SpongeBob headed home :)

Logan is 8 Months Old!
My sweet face, always smiling, two teeth sporting little man is 8 months old today! He's growing up right before our eyes. He's playing, learning, and interacting with us more with each passing day. The most notable development this month would have to be baby food! He's finally ALL about it. I knew if he ever gave it a really chance there would be no pulling it away from him. One evening he decided..."I really like this ALOT" Now every evening at 5'oclock..my sweet temperated baby who literally never cries will at least let out a small whimper at exactly 5pm if his mushy delight is not sitting on a spoon heading towards his little mouth! He easily takes 2.5 cans and I honestly think he'd go for more if I'd let him! Some notable favorites : Peach cobbler (umm great new flava..yea who wouldn't like that), pears, apples, bananas, mixed fruits, corn, squash, and sweet potatoes. Notice their all a little sweet. He despises green beans and the meats esp the ham but again who wouldn't. I gag when I open them lol! His other big food related development is that he now holds his own bottle. He went from not holding it all to COMPLETELY holding it by himself!
He's still on his way to crawling. Not much new in his progress there but he's doing the all fours and rocking business so I know he's going to break into a crawl any day now. He still adores Kal-el. His entire face lights up when he looks at him. I catch him staring at Super often. Kal-el has gotten really loving towards him and pats him and smiles back sweetly at him. This is heart melting to a mommy! It's surreal to think that in four months from now our BABY will be a ONE YEAR old. I can't wait to see what is toddler years have in store for us. Happy 8 months baby Logan. We love you!
