Great Grandparents Sleep Over
Very rarely am I late on posting ANY events in our lives ..big or small. They are all special to me and sometimes the smilingly small things are the memories you look back on with such fondness. That and the fact that this blog and documenting our lives is job that I take very seriously. Well I happened to find a set of pictures from a couple of weeks ago from our sleep over at Nannie's and Poppa's house. They somehow got lost in translation during the 3..yes THREE times that my camera was carried back and forth to Best Buy and mailed to Sony for under warranty repairs. After the 3rd time I'd had enough and I got not only a new one but and upgraded one. I still wouldn't wish the experience on anyone. Ugh. Ok back to pajamas! We had a great time at Nans and Chris bear was even off and got to join us :) When he fell asleep earlier in the evening on the couch Kal-El and I decided to pamper him. ...by turning him into a bee-u-t-iful work of art. Super covered him in stuffed animals and I colored on the only part of him not squished my plush babies. This was right before Logan's big cookies and milk party so my source of inspiration is apparent..LOL!
Later that evening the boys decided to turn in early. Super is almost completely done with naps so the trade off is that he actually goes to bed early and sleeps in. Works for me :) Logan spent a few minutes adjusting to the little crib Nannie has in her room but it wasn't long until he was sound asleep also. Chris and I stayed up a little longer, talked, and watched some tv. The very best part of our little stay was waking up in the morning to Nannie's delicious biscuits. She claims to be "retired" from cooking but it was ever bit as yummy as it always was. I have so many memories of spending the night with Nannie and having the smell of her home made full course breakfast fill the air. It was a nice reminder of memories from kindergarten all the way thru college for me. How special is it that our boys are having the same wonderful memories three decades later. So sweet. Nannie, please don't retire...we'll come stay the night again if we have to!
Helping Logan test out his crib :)
You should always make sure Kal-El and I are asleep first lol
It takes a lot of super powers to open jelly! ;)

Standing Ovation!
It happened. Just like that.... he stood. Our sweet, laid back Logan decided he was over the all fours business and started pulling up right before our eyes. It was like he'd been doing it for weeks. The only give away that it was a brand new event was his precious reaction. He was thrilled with his new found independence and squealed with delight as he looked down at his feet and adorable chubby legs. He refused to sit down for awhile and opted just to giggle and relish in the moment. Sweet baby. He was as happy as we were. I feel like I can relax a little more now because I was concerned and honestly preoccupied with this milestone over the last few weeks. I've learned that he follows his clock not mine and that's perfectly fine with me :)
A couple of days ago Chris and I took the boys swimming at Aunt Shane's house. We had such a blast that I forgot to take a single picture. Kal-El has swimming lessons that began later this month so I wanted to get him used to being in a pool before they started. I was afraid he would be either completely fearless or completely apprehensive in regards to the water but he fell somewhere in the middle. Maybe there is hope for his poor instructor. He referred to the pool as "the hole". I hope he's kind and eager to swim in "the hole" on the 23rd. We were all tired when we arrived home and I thought it might be the perfect time to re-introduce the sippy cup to Logan. He's adamantly refused it since two weeks before his first birthday. We've offered it and tried every brand under the sun but he was just so all about his beloved bottle he wouldn't have any part of it. I took advantage of the situation and figured he would want to get hydrated after our evening swim. It paid off because he worked to get the milk out and he hasn't looked back since. Bitter sweet. We are bottle free. I'm happy for my little man. He's really getting this ONE year old thing down.He gets a big standing O for the sippy and.... well ...standing! I better sit back and relax a little because I know once he starts walking I'll be one tired Mommy!
"Mom COOOOOME OOOOON with the flash already!" LOL
Ok, last one.....love you sweet boy!
