At Long Last....SNOW!!!

I really dont make it a secret how much I love winter. We had our first snow this year! I was pretty ecstatic. We ended up with a little over an inch I think. I would have preferred more of course but I gladly took it! Kal-El LOVED it to. Logan was pretty much the opposite. He did not like the cold on his little hand and cried for a good 20 mins even after we came in. Both boys liked eating the snow however. I didnt make snowcream this year but we made sure to gather the consumed snow from very HIGH, very safe locations so I didnt freak out too much ;) The winter storm basically came in two rounds. The second day was my favorite bc it happened in the early evening and into night fall.  We watched movies, opened all the windows, and cooked. It was gorgeous outside. I seriously felt like I was in a snow globe. Go winter! LOL Chris has also been home with us during all of this bc we had to have a new ac unit put in. Its been such a wonderful, super cozy week!

Baseball!

"If you want to win...put Superman in" was his first reaction to the first sport of his life :) Chris and I signed Super up for baseball a couple of weeks ago. He's ecstatic! He got VERY mad at us because he couldn't start that very day. Chris has been working with him some at home. From the looks of things it appears that he is a lefty in sports as well. I love that both boys are lefties like me. I never played sports really but Ive always heard its a decent advantage on the field. We cant wait to see what position he enjoys and which sport will end up being his favorite. I love boys :) I couldnt stomach cheer practice. Yall know Im just being honest. I think this will be an exciting time for our family. He starts in late March. Go Super!

We Survived the Flu!

Well, it happened. My biggest fear of the cold and flu season happened. The dreaded and feared H1N1 made its way into our home. It got my Logan Bear :( I had no choice but to get his shot late in the year. We have been sick so much from the boys exposure from school that even when I pulled them we were all so run down that we were still not well. I marked the date on the calender the he got his vaccination, then I marked two weeks in the future when he would have acquired immunity from it. Four days short of the two weeks he "got it". I felt so BAD. We almost missed it entirely. I feel confident had I of gotten him in literally a week sooner we would have been ok. Hindsight though. We soon found it was not in vain, however. This sweet little boy played, ate and drank VERY well, jumped on beds, and never had a fever of over 101 and it usually just sat right at 100. As a matter of fact I doubt anyone else would have even wanted to take him in. I had a gut filling though. He slept in longer, and seemed to want another nap shortly after that. Off we went for what I KNEW would be a flu diagnosis. His just short of 2 weeks shot was lingering in the back of my mind the entire time with dreaded anticipation.
I have to say..I am so relieved the boys were vaccinated. No one else in this house caught it and Logan beat the flu in 2 days and again SUCH a very mild case. I have no doubt it was bc he had some but not all of his immunity built from his mist 2 weeks ago. It just didnt have time to finish doing its thing. He has breathed on everyone in this house...bc well that unavoidable. Kal-El didnt get it- vaccinated. I didnt get it- vaccinated same time as Logan.  Chris- No vaccination but On Tamiflu. We have passed every single thing around this year EXCEPT the flu bc we were protected. It blows my mind to hear people say they think it makes you sick. We have been sick a ton this year long before we received vaccinations in Dec. We started getting sick in October this year. Thats the very reason we had to put off the shots in the first place. My children have also had flu vaccinations every single year of their lives as soon as they turned 6 months old and are usually not sick much at all during cold and flu season. The one thing that was different this year school and an immune system getting a workout from all the new direct exposure. Im just glad its over. It could have been so much worse. Im grateful and relieved to have very healthy boys that will no doubt be even healthier after this years natural immunity building obstacle course! Im glad we got all of it out of the way before our Oregon trip!

Jessica Rabbit Setup

I cant share these amazing images that Danielle shot yesterday on my business page until Feb but I thought Id go ahead and throw them up here :) I chose to do a Jessica Rabbit theme for my Valentine's Day contribution to Party Style Magazine. I absolutely adore Jessica. I love the more sultry characters as opposed to the girl next door cartoons. She epitomizes...well....hotness lol! Its her personality that I really like to though. Jessica is very confident and just kind of knows herself. Shes fiercely loyal and has a very dry affect and sense of humor. She fancies the funny guy as a romantic partner not the price charming type. Shes unorthodox and I love that. I love the color scheme of this shoot and I dont think there is such a thing as too much sparkle or two many curves. This might be my new favorite theme!  :)

2014!

Just checking in over here! Just realized I havent done a post this year :) Ive had a good reason...we have ALL been completely under the weather. I had a very hard time kicking a sinus infection, bronchitis, and the the worst tummy virus ever! Ugh. That virus swept through our entire house with the exception of Logan and we are holding on for dear life that it doesnt take him down to. I do know that it could be worse. So many people are VERY ill from the flu this year. Until today Kal-El was the only member of our home that had protection. We have literally swapped viruses since October. Its been pretty miserable. Because of that Logan and I were just now (as in literally today) able to get our flu vaccinations. I hated it so bad that it took us this long to get them but it was unavoidable due to our previous illnesses! Chris still hasnt got his and is on the fence. For average healthy children, with no known allergies or major risk factors im about as pro vaccinate as one can possibly be. I put off the research til my children were a little older. Im relieved about the conclusion Ive come to bc they have had shots all along. I encourage everyone to at least do their research in a very through fashion.
Which kind of leads me to my next announcement. After weighing the pros and cons I've decided to pull both boys from school. They only go one day a week and to put it rather bluntly...we pay absolute hell the other 6 days of the week due to the sicknesses they acquire there. I have also learned that this "immune system workout" is really only beneficial to Kal-El ..not Logan who is only 2. Even Kal-El is to the point where this is not a workout any longer....we are just completely run down at this point. I refuse to expose my child to illness if it doenst benefit him when I have the privilege and honor of being able to stay home with them. Doenst feel right...bc its not right. We are also a one income family and my husband has had to miss more work then he would like because we are also getting ill. Seriously rough two months over here! The award for biggest baby in the house, without a doubt, goes to Chris Borquez LOL! We honestly have had some great laughs in spite of everything this week. If you cant laugh, life can swallow you up sometimes. I love my little family and all of our quirks. Here are some random pictures from this week. I didnt photo document puke and other bodily functions. I'm sure no one minds though! I hope after this last bout 2014 will be a much healthier for all of us! :)
