Its been a busy month and I havent checked in since last month so here goes a briefing :) We've had a couple of health adventures. Chris bear had his wisdom teeth taken out during his vacation week and I can honestly say Ive never laughed so hard in my life at his anesthesia antics. I love that nutcase to pieces xoxo! I also had a little scare with my heart and palpitations. Thankfully, 2 er visits, several copays, and echos later my little ticker is doing just fine. I just need to get in better condition. Kal-El is currently suffering from conjunctivitis (pink eye) but still as wild as ever and Logan is the picture of health :) We have a lot to be grateful for. We decided to hold off on our Oregon trip until the boys are just a but older so they can remember and enjoy it more! We had such a nice week of relaxing...I think we all really, really need the relaxation, movies, and cuddle time!
The most exciting new thing in our lives is baseball for Super and language explosion for Logan! K had his first couple of practices this past week and we are all enjoying it so much. Kal-El took right to sports and literally cant get enough of it. I look forward to all of our games this year,....Including the one this Thursday...his very first game on his birthday! So exciting! We also got Kal-El registered for school this August. He is seriously going to love it and the fact that hes so independent about it helps mommy bird hover'er a great deal ;) He's going to school at the same place he plays baseball so I'm excited about him playing with many of the same children this summer. I was a little concerned initially about diversity but everyone has been amazing to us and I love the smaller feel of the school...it seems more private and the education seems like it takes a front seat. All a plus for sure.
Logan has become a talking machine. He has about 45 -50 words now :) His voice is PRECIOUS. Im so proud of him that I can hardly stand it. He has 2 favorite 'H' words at the moment. Hulk (yes the irony) and hugs (I beg for them all day) He's an amazing little boy who captures my heart even more with each new word that leaves his little mouth. I cant wait until the sentences start rolling bc I know its coming...he already has one "Here you go!" for when he wants something. He used it at Super's baseball game when a man sat down beside him with a funnel cake. "HERE YOU GO!!!" Everyone got a laugh out of that one!
Business with Capes and Crowns has been super busy to! Im waiting for the issue of Mingle Magazine to hit stands at the beginning of April and we just finished wrapping the Bambi Twittered pated shoot for Bird's party magazine. I can not tell a lie here, Im without a doubt the most excited about Kal-El's party on April 6th. I planned it a couple weeks after his bday bc I thought we'd be in Oregon but Im relieved for the extra time bc I want it to be extra special.
Most of these pictures will be from Instagram on this update. While its often times difficult to sit and write a blog post with two wild superheros running around I always snap pics of them and share. The next post will prob be all the baseball practice pictures :)

Funny Valentine! xoxo
Talk about this holiday creeping up on me! Parties mess me up sometime! I had the Jessica Rabbit shoot all wrapped up at the end of January so it really felt like we had already had vday and all the goodies that came with. There is literally always an elaborate setup going on over here. I didnt do any of the little handmade crafts this year for the boys. I figured we would get enough of that next year with Super starting school so we were very laid back this year. I have to admit it was soooo nice and very stress free! Mom came over a couple of weeks ago and showered them with vday goody bags and made little personalized cookies for them. So sweet! On the actual day of Valentine's Chris and I were getting our new unit put in. Romantic huh? ;) We have lots of romance other than one day on the calender year. As a matter of fact I hate obligatory anything! My hubby humors me bc hes awesome but I really could care less. He was sweet enough to watch both boys while workers were here so I could do a little shopping for myself. Its so the little things that are special to me and I love him so much for "getting me". There were a lot of sweet , heart felt cards that got passed around yesterday but I have to admit that Kal-El's anti love card kind of stole the show!!
Kal-El got a new carseat yesterday. Actually, a booster seat. Long over due. It was NOT the one he wanted. You see the one his heart desired was a big gaudy commercial ninja turtle model that was not only out of stock (thank God) but veeery over priced. He got a nice grey one. He hated it at first. Cried. Then wouldnt speak to me or Chris. Then he got my valentines card that he got me and drew a huge heart on it and put an equally huge 'X' over it. He brought me a piece of paper and said he needed help writing a letter...he wanted to spell "You are not my best friend anymore, I dont like you go somewhere else" I told him I dont write mean letters to people and asked who it was for. He said "Daddy!" I told him how rude and disrespectful he was being over a new carseat and sent him to his room to think about how to feels when we hurt peoples feelings that we love. He came out "reformed" (bahaha) a half hour letter and wanted to write another letter. I thought it might have been an apology letter. Nope. Why would I think that. It was full of heart though...in typical Kal-El fashion. He said "I need it to say the same thing again...not best friends..this one is a pretend letter to stranger" LOL I died laughing I honestly couldnt help it. He really wanted to get that letter to his Dad! After I refused again he was even MORE mad at me then his Daddy. I letter found a letter hed wrote to me. He'e only 4 so he of course doesnt have the tools to write the sentences himself. Instead I found another huge heart with another huge 'X' over it and a word word insult that made laugh hysterically. 'LAM' my four year old just called me "lame" folks. Im framing this bad boy and putting it with all the other sappy cards I'll keep bc it prob captures his personality more then anything else!! I'm a lucky girl to have three amazing boys in my life. They make me smile and laugh constantly! Happy Valentine's Day!! xoxo

At Long Last....SNOW!!!
I really dont make it a secret how much I love winter. We had our first snow this year! I was pretty ecstatic. We ended up with a little over an inch I think. I would have preferred more of course but I gladly took it! Kal-El LOVED it to. Logan was pretty much the opposite. He did not like the cold on his little hand and cried for a good 20 mins even after we came in. Both boys liked eating the snow however. I didnt make snowcream this year but we made sure to gather the consumed snow from very HIGH, very safe locations so I didnt freak out too much ;) The winter storm basically came in two rounds. The second day was my favorite bc it happened in the early evening and into night fall. We watched movies, opened all the windows, and cooked. It was gorgeous outside. I seriously felt like I was in a snow globe. Go winter! LOL Chris has also been home with us during all of this bc we had to have a new ac unit put in. Its been such a wonderful, super cozy week!

Baseball!
"If you want to win...put Superman in" was his first reaction to the first sport of his life :) Chris and I signed Super up for baseball a couple of weeks ago. He's ecstatic! He got VERY mad at us because he couldn't start that very day. Chris has been working with him some at home. From the looks of things it appears that he is a lefty in sports as well. I love that both boys are lefties like me. I never played sports really but Ive always heard its a decent advantage on the field. We cant wait to see what position he enjoys and which sport will end up being his favorite. I love boys :) I couldnt stomach cheer practice. Yall know Im just being honest. I think this will be an exciting time for our family. He starts in late March. Go Super!
We Survived the Flu!
Well, it happened. My biggest fear of the cold and flu season happened. The dreaded and feared H1N1 made its way into our home. It got my Logan Bear :( I had no choice but to get his shot late in the year. We have been sick so much from the boys exposure from school that even when I pulled them we were all so run down that we were still not well. I marked the date on the calender the he got his vaccination, then I marked two weeks in the future when he would have acquired immunity from it. Four days short of the two weeks he "got it". I felt so BAD. We almost missed it entirely. I feel confident had I of gotten him in literally a week sooner we would have been ok. Hindsight though. We soon found it was not in vain, however. This sweet little boy played, ate and drank VERY well, jumped on beds, and never had a fever of over 101 and it usually just sat right at 100. As a matter of fact I doubt anyone else would have even wanted to take him in. I had a gut filling though. He slept in longer, and seemed to want another nap shortly after that. Off we went for what I KNEW would be a flu diagnosis. His just short of 2 weeks shot was lingering in the back of my mind the entire time with dreaded anticipation.
I have to say..I am so relieved the boys were vaccinated. No one else in this house caught it and Logan beat the flu in 2 days and again SUCH a very mild case. I have no doubt it was bc he had some but not all of his immunity built from his mist 2 weeks ago. It just didnt have time to finish doing its thing. He has breathed on everyone in this house...bc well that unavoidable. Kal-El didnt get it- vaccinated. I didnt get it- vaccinated same time as Logan. Chris- No vaccination but On Tamiflu. We have passed every single thing around this year EXCEPT the flu bc we were protected. It blows my mind to hear people say they think it makes you sick. We have been sick a ton this year long before we received vaccinations in Dec. We started getting sick in October this year. Thats the very reason we had to put off the shots in the first place. My children have also had flu vaccinations every single year of their lives as soon as they turned 6 months old and are usually not sick much at all during cold and flu season. The one thing that was different this year school and an immune system getting a workout from all the new direct exposure. Im just glad its over. It could have been so much worse. Im grateful and relieved to have very healthy boys that will no doubt be even healthier after this years natural immunity building obstacle course! Im glad we got all of it out of the way before our Oregon trip!
