Logan is One Month!
Well, technically he is just a few days over that since we keep up by weeks (4 weeks 2days) BUT since that will eventually change to months I'm just going to do his update on the 16th of every month. I wasn't sure if I'd have much to update on for baby Logan when I originally decided to do this, afterall, newborns are pretty much all the same right? Eat, poo, sleep. Wrong! Little man is already different from his older sibling in many ways and even at a month old already has his "ways" Most notable perhaps is the amount of formula this little infant consumes. Wow! I kid not..he takes 7-8.5 oz EVERY feeding and has been doing so since last week at 3 weeks of age. I honestly didn't even know this was possible. I knew I wasn't confusing hunger cues with other needs because I tried everything my baby was just and is HUNGRY..A LOT..err constantly! I've researched it and apparently feeding on demand is still what needs to be done..soooo unless he starts spitting up (which he literally never does) or starts having tummy problems or issues sleeping/or staying awake then he needs to be fed til his hearts content. He sooo gets this from me :)
He is still such a wonderful laid back baby. He gets up about twice a night and after a bottle he easily gets himself right back to sleep. He looks for our voices..mainly Kal-el's..lol I'm sure because it's the one he's heard non stop since being in the womb. He has excellent head control now and can hold his head up for several seconds. I don't remember Kal-el being able to do that quite so early. Defiantly not a race but it's interesting to note the differences in the two. Logan is such a sweet part of our family. I'm so glad he's here and I can't believe its already been a month!

Congratulations Chris!
Last night I called my mom and Larry to take them up on an offer to watch the Borquez boys so I could accompany Chris for his MMA training. I've ways enjoyed watching him train and I was starting to need a little breather from being in the house all day. It's been nearly a year since my husbands last fight but he still trains on a regular basis...and its a good thing to because he has a title fight in August. This will be fight number 4 for the "Black Mamba".He is currently 3-0! I can't wait, even though I'm always a little worried I know he is so talented and works so hard so I love to see it pay off for him. My husband now trains at Flatline and works alot more on technique and Brazilian jiu jitsu. Joining him last night was such a treat because I could really see how much better he's gotten over time. I really picked the perfect night to go because it was a seminar. The class was taught by Samuel Puccio, who came from Brazil with Vitor Belfort (professional UFC fighter who fought Anderson Silva a few of months ago) to the US to train and teach here. He is a 4th degree black belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu and an awesome trainer. Chris picked up alot of new techniques and even got a very special surprise....3 degrees added at one time to his belt...one more and he gets to move up to the next belt! I love jiu jitsu. I was actually a fan of the Gracies before Chris and I even met. It's such a superior form of fighting in my opinion. It's all strategy and very mental, intelligent fighting not based on strength but manipulation of different positions. Chris happens to be very strong and athletic as well so its even more of an advantage to have solid technique. I'm sooo proud of Chris for his accomplishment last night. I'm so happy that he has a hobby that he loves. I'm definitely his number one fan and I know he'll be ready when August gets here!

A Laid Back Little 4th of July!
Celebrating holidays(especially hot summer ones) in the usual fashion can be a bit challenging with a brand new baby. Chris and I opted to stay at home this year and take it easy. He grilled here and we watched movies with our little ones. It's been a great day! Our extended family didn't really have a get together this year either so it was nice enjoying each others company and also not feeling like we missed anything! Any other time I would of insisted on theme related holiday decor and food but not being able to drive until just a few short days ago made that little task virtually impossible. Besides I don't think my post baby low carb diet would like a star spangled cake or cookie but I would LOVE one lol. Oh well there's always next year :) So even without fireworks, water, or yummy desserts this is still one of my favorite 4ths because the THREE most important guys in my life were snuggled up with me. So thankful that we can enjoy the freedoms we do today because of the selflessness of those who served before us and those who serve today. Happy 4th of July!
Super chowing down on some chips :)
