Super scared of Super huh?!

It's a bird, it's a plane...NO! It's Kal-el's least favorite toy of the moment. It's the highly intimidating life sized non cuddley Superman. Kal-el can't stand this imposter. There is only room for one Superman in this house and its Kal-el lol. Despite our efforts Super baby just can not get used to super boy. Today was the closest victory we have ever had. He managed to walk over and push him down then run right back to me and hide his little face against my legs. Is it a bad thing that we sometimes use him for disciplinary purposes? For example sitting him in frount of dangerous light sockets that my too-smart-for-his-own -good toddler removes the child safety guards off of. I didn't think so...Superman to the rescue ;-)
On guard lol
Most of the time he won't even look at him
let alone go near him..
Mimsy "beating up" superman for Kal-el..we have tried many things
in our efforts to make him less frightened.
He is very amused by this!

Just not enough to approach him....yet
Still trying to work up his nerve...
Here are some of the many many different ways we have tried
to build a better bond....
Putting them in close proximity to each other
FAIL
I immediately rescued him he grabbed his carrot easter bat
"I'll save you Geensheer!"
That's it nobody messes with Super!
This is where he drops the bat, runs over and touches Superman,
gets scared once again, knocks him down, and runs back over to Mommy.
Mommy will save you! The staredown LOL
Among our other attempts :
Diapering Superman so he seems less threatening
Spanking him: Bad, bad doll!
Loving on him..
We tried ignoring him..
And many other weird things.....
A little more love for the big guy...
Getting closer....
Yay! The best shot of the day..they may not exactly be friends
but Kal-el has over come his Superman phobia! :-)

Mommy's Favorite Makeup Products!

So I am obviously out numbered with boys around my home (wouldn't have it any other way) but I definitely still love all things girly especially make up products. Back in my modeling days I tested tons of different products and lines. I've recently been asked what my favorites are so here goes...

Foundation- Love love Bobbi Brown....their entire line has yellow undertones..and I'm an "autumn" so I have tons of yellow to my skin. I would put this foundation up against any other that I've ever used. I always end up going back to it.  My favorite is their Moisture Rich Foundation. The color I wear is Warm Caramel.

Eyeshadow- MAC is the go to for shadows..their colors are so rich, dense, and very highly pigmented. They however are not for the faint of heart. You really need to know alot about application when it comes to some of the more crazy colors they offer, if not you you run the risk of looking like a clown.
I primarily use two colors on a day to day basis . These may not the best choices for day time wear but you know me. I go big or go home LOL. Carbon and Club are my two favorites.

Lip Liner- MAC wins again at least for liner anyway. My favorite colors for lines are Cedar, which is now discontinued (* tears*), and Chicory. My favorite lipstick they carry is Jist.

Lipstick- Chanel baby. Their colors are so beautiful and the product feels so good on your mouth. It's a little pricey but makes for a very pretty pout! Color of choice : Ruban Rose

Eyeliner- The best I've found so far in the liquid is the super inexpensive variety.  L'Oreal. I usually like liquid better as it provides a more precise line and this one seems to last through anything!

Mascara- Estee Lauder mascara can't be beat. It really packs a punch when adding volumn and length. Favorite : Magna Scopic.

False Eyelashes- Another bargain! I've had MANY different types on lashes applied during the course of photoshoots and I'll tell you the brand Ardell that can be purchased at Sally's for $3.99 can not be beat. I would put them up against just about any high end lash.
I think that pretty much covers it. I hope this is a helpful little review. Kal-el often watches me as I apply makeup in the morning and sometimes looks quite perplexed. He's a mans man and thats sooo not a bad thing :)

First Annual Child Safety at State Farm with "Neigh Bear"!

Yesterday was probably the most fun I've ever had at work! Our State Farm office has been trying to have a child safety day for sometime now. Safety day's are mostly centered around car seat inspections. We provided technicians for customers to have their seats throughly inspected to make sure they were within the required guidelines for weight and that they were installed properly. Luckly, all of the seats passed yesterday. In the event that one is defective they replace it on sight with another one and the old one is destroyed. It's a great system. We also had our conference room decorated with the Cars theme from Disney, courtsey of yours truely. You know that I can't and won't pass up an opportunity to party plan! The kids could come in and enjoy watching the Cars movie and enjoy some snacks while their parents were getting the inspection done. I was excited all day because I knew Chris was bringing Kal-el to see me and to participate in the day's events. My friend and coworker, Kellie , was designated to dress up as the Good Neigh Bear but happily relinquished the role to my more than willing husband once he arrived with Super in tow. Chris loves to do that kind of thing especially when it comes to children. What a perfect costume since the nickname I gave Chris years ago is "Chris Bear". He was such an awesome source of entertain and kept everyone laughing and the kids adored him. It was pretty hot outside so I'm sure there were more than a couple of times that he was miserable but he just kept going and had a good time. He is such a good sport and he was doing it just because he wanted to help! He was even doing different dance moves such as "tha stanky leg" and the "superman" to the cars driving by. Gah, I heart him. Even in the bear suit Kal-el still knew that it was his Daddy. Must of been because he heard him talking and hugging on Moms here. After lots of pictures were made with the Neigh Bear and all the seats were inspected we decided to go ahead and let them take a look at Kal-el's seat. Turns out its just fine. Yay! However, they did inform us that we may be looking at very pricey seats in the near future being that Super is very big and tall for his age but still a toddler. So we will have to cross that bridge a few months down the road when he reaches the max weight for his seat. The technicians asked how old Kal-el is. One of them said "he's about two right?" I laughed and said try 13 months. They laughed to and finally looked like they understand why I was carrying him around almost the entire time. By the time the very last seat was inspected, almost all the treats were devoured, and the gas cans were emptied, everyone especially my toddler carrying back, and the Neigh Bear were ready to call it a day. I'm so glad the event was a success. Everyone worked really hard and we had a better turn out than expected. Can't wait to do it again! :)
