A Sprinkle For Logan!

Today was my Sprinkle (aka smaller scale shower ) for baby Logan. It was very relaxed, low key,and family only attended per my request. I love small intimate gatherings and sprinkles are perfect for subsequent pregnancies since all the essentials were generally purchased for the first born, especially if the babies happen to be the same gender. Since my Mom was the one throwing this I helped her with some of the planning aspects. We wanted something very simple but I can't forgo on a theme opportunity! We decided on umbrellas, and a few crystal "rain drops" or sprinkles and of course the color blue. I thought it everything turned out really nice. My family got Logan some of the most thoughtful, precious gifts. I'm so grateful that he is loved this much already. Makes me a very happy Mommy that we were sprinkled with some much love and affection today! :)

C Section- June 20th!

Ok here go the pregnancy hormones. Today I went to see the wonderful Dr. Musgrove for my 36 weeks appointment. I was super eager to get there because I knew that we would more than likely be scheduling my c section for sometime mid June. I also really wanted him to check my cervix for any dilation. Even  though I just turned 36 weeks he indeed wanted to check me...mainly for two reasons. The first being that I'm having tons of pelvic pressure and secondly my history. When I was pregnant with Kal-el I was already dialted at this time or shortly after and by the time my scheduled c section rolled around I was at a 3. My concern today was that since this is a second pregnancy I might progress faster. He checked me and reported that I was less than a finger tip dilated. He said the reason for all my pressure was because Logan is So big and has dropped even lower. The progression may very well start at any time!
Since I turn 39 weeks June the 17th I had my heart set on this date. Dr. Musgrove prefered it as well. The reason I have c sections in the first place in because I have large babies, a small pelvis and a tipped uterus (which means back labor and possibily a fractured tale bone) ouch no thanks! Although Dr. Wakefield gave me the option of attempting to have Kal-el naturally I promptedly said no thanks I wanted a c section from day one. I will not go into all the reasons :)  So this birth will of course be a repeat Cesarean. Everything looked great for the date being set up. Dr. Musgrove made the call himself and ECM TOLD him they had the date avaible. Yes!
Or so we thought...to make a long painful story short there was a mix up in scheduling and they were "misinformed" when they TOLD the DOCTOR they had the 17th available. Niiiiiice just what I wanted to hear! I waited for over an hour and eventually was told that I would have to wait til the 20th since they don't do scheduled sections on weekends and the 17th happened to fall on a Friday. I'm sure this all sounds crazy HOWEVER 3 days is EVERYTHING to a pregnant woman who normally weighs 115 lbs, is 5 ft tall, gives birth to over 8 lb babies, and dilates early. The lady scheduling my surgery could feel my pain and commented had never had such a hard time getting something on the books. The ONLY way for us to meet Logan any sooner is if I progress to over 3cm. If that were to happen I would be scheduled for an earlier date. So until then its a waiting game and at least we have a tentative date of June 20th. I know one good thing birthdays for these two will be very easy to keep up with because Kal-el's falls on the 20th of March. Yes, thats desperate and I'm grasping for straws..come on Logan! :)

A Test Run for Super....

Yesterday I got the idea in my head that it might be a good idea to purchase a plastic newborn baby doll for Kal-el in an effort to get him accustomed to the idea of a baby brother. With 3 weeks or less to prepare I felt a pressing need to get on this task even though visions of the plastic baby flying through the air and being hit made me cringe. I know, I know, its not the real thing and plastic can in no way mimic a live breathing baby HOWEVER if nothing else but for sheer curiosity I wanted to see his level of interaction. Well, it's a good thing that I didn't take this little trial run/demo test too seriously because while he started off VERY loving to fake baby "Logee" even sharing his toys, these kind gestures eventually turned a bit sinister. A couple of eye ball gouges, and shortly after being hit with Handy Manny tools, and placed on TOP of his basketball hoop I decided this was a no go but at least found humor in it. Perhaps I should of just saved  money and purchased Logan a tiny football helmet...lol part of me is serious ;)

Keeping Up With Kal-el- May

Just realized that I haven't done one of these in a couple of months..I've also fallen behind a bit on the book of the month selection. I will try to be more diligent! :)

- Super is a talking machine now..he repeats EVERYTHING..and is putting together sentences with ease now. My favorite so far has been the one he has said a couple of times this week "I love Mama and Daydee." Talk about heart melting!

- His most used phrase is "I like it!" Said with MUCH conviction and generally reserved for yummy food such as "cream" (ice cream) and Ginger!

- One of his favorite past times is naming different animals and the appropriate sound that each one makes...he seems to enjoy being a frog the most...followed by horsee as a close runner up! :)

- Kal-el is doing an awesome job learning his colors. He gets a few of them mixed up at times but his favorite two colors are yellow followed by green. I know this makes Chris proud..Go Ducks lol ;)

- He is the essence of what being a boy is..he literally defines it..he has so much energy ..its unbelievable! With that being said he's around his Mommy all the time now and he LOVES to watch me put on make up. He will sit beside me and point out where each tube should be applied. Eye "stuff" is his favorite..he'll scream "EYE!" at me lol

- Kal-el is going to be very athletic ..he has a basketball goal set on the next to the highest setting and he scores more often than not! He also loves to "box". He removes all of his clothing with the exception of his diaper and starts swinging away...someones been watching MMA with Daddy looks like.

- Speaking of removing clothing..he still loves the least amount of clothes we will allow. He even took off his shirt at the theater last week and we almost never convinced him to reapply it lol

-While the love for Mickey is still super strong..the mouse has become a close second to Pluto ..pronounced "Pee-Po". Kal-el will hardly do anything without the yellow dog in tow ...especially when it's bed time.

- Super has deleloped a hair phobia..if he sees a single strand on the couch, bathtub etc he freaks out and yells at me until I'm able to see it and remove it!

-He now actually requests to have his picture made..We find this hilarious..and quite diva like..if you could see him strike a pose you would understand..no clue where he gets this ..lol ;)

-At night before we lay down ..we "talk"..he names every single family member(extended included) in pairs...he usually pairs himself with "Logee"...precious :) He leaves Max out often..but not Ginger and "Coy."

-Speaking of Logan..some days Super will sweetly kiss my tummy and "talk" to him other days its "no no Logee"

-His favorite snack lately is fruit cheerios or as he puts it "color cheerios" don't you dare give him the plain ones if he makes this request..unless you want to wear them LOL

- He enjoys doing big boy things like "using the potty" and he loves brushing his teeth. He will actually ask to do it :)

-He is still a Daddy's boy...he wants to do everything his Daddy does!

- My favorite new development is the random kisses he gives us..they are so spontaneous and full of affection!

These are just a few of my favorite Kal-el (isms) as of late..I'm sure I've left some out but its so hard to keep up at this age. I can honestly say that I love this 2 year old man more with each passing day. He is a total handful at two but has so much passion and personality that I wouldn't trade it for the world!

Ah ha..Logan looks like...

Daddy!............ I was cleaning and trying to organize some random photographs when I ran across one of Chris's newborn photos. I almost instantly realized that our sweet chubby faced Logan looks SO much like his Daddy as a newborn. Kal-el was a large baby but he seemed to have less fullness in his face. Logan already has plump cheeks according to the 4D ultrasound. Can't wait to see him in person!
