9 Month check up!

This morning Chris and I took Kal-el to see Dr. Melvin for his 9 month appointment. He has grown so much since he was there last. He was almost 30 inches and over 23 lbs which put him in the 95th percentile for height(he obviously gets this from Dad) and 90th for weight. He sat in Chris's lap while Dr. Melvin preformed his check up. He said everything looked and sounded great! I'm so grateful. He also commented on how strong Kal-el is. I thought it was just me thinking that b/c I'm so girly but apparently he is pretty strong b/c everyone else has been commenting on it too. He kept grabbing the stethoscope from the doctor and pulling on all of his instruments. We finally had to just hold his little arms down so the exam could be finished. He didnt like that one bit. He kept "hulking up" as we playfully call it. He is so full of life. He takes his little hands balls them up, pulls his arms to the frount and grunts very loudly in protest. We are waiting on him to turn green at any second! Maybe his name should of been Bruce Banner AKA the Hulk instead of Superman LOL. Also, when Dr. Melvin checked his teeth..all four of them..Super decided he would chomp down a little. Thank goodness his doctor is so good natured and is probably completely used to those types of events b/c he simply laughed and stated "Wow ouch we have a little vampire here." As robust and lively as Kal-el is I am so pleased that he has an equally developed sensitive side and wants to be loved on often. I think his personality is the perfect combination of Chris and I. At a 9 month check up there are no regular immunizations but after much research and a advisement from Dr. Melvin we decided to go ahead and allow Kal-el to have both flu vaccinations. Had we opted out of these shots we would be in the minority. I talked to the doctor about stats in his office and he has had NO bad reactions out of thousands of shots. After he told me that he gave them to his own grandchildren and that he had two near death situations from swine flu in his practice our decision was made. During is shots little man was once again quite the trooper. He made one whimper on the first shot and didnt even cry on the second. The only time he did cry was when Chris and I wouldn't allow him to eat off his snoopy band aids provided to cover his shot boo boos. Rotten! Our next visit will be his one year appointment. Wow Baby boy you are growing up sooo fast! We love you more than you will ever know. Mommy's super duper hulk man child...XOXO!
