Yard Sales!

Who knew Superman was a yard sale junkie! This morning Aunt Vicki, Nannie, Poppa, and the boys and I got up bright and early to enjoy some local yardselling'. We had a blast. I haven't been to a yard sale in a few years and would of honestly never thought to go had it not been for Kal-El. Yesterday after lunch Chris and I drove thru a neighborhood on our way home looking at houses. A yard sale caught Super's eye and he begin asking what it was and could we get out. Nannie and Poppa ate lunch with us so when they saw that we had stopped they got out and had a look around as well. Poppa is not crazy about yard sales but Nannie was absolutely in heaven....her and Kal-El both! After lining every toy truck up on the premises and inspecting each of them (this was hilarious to watch) He went with a green waste management dump truck. We tried to persuade  him to go with a really big nice truck and his response after us pressuring him for ten minutes was "THAT ONE'S TOO BIG, I DONT LIKE IT." I was worried we might have a true "yardseller" at the point. He knew just what he wanted and wanted to find the hidden treasures himself! When we arrived home for the evening Chris got called out to work and all I heard about from Kal-El was "Mommy I wanna go to yard sale" I thought he would eventually give it up but he didn't! I decided to call Aunt Vicki and Nannie before we went to bed to see if they would be up for an early Saturday morning of yard sales. They agreed and the rest is history!
Six am came pretty early this morning but Super didn't mind one bit. I reminded him where we were going and he sat straight up in bed and shouted "yard sales...I need to look for train toys!" He had an agenda! We started out at a couple of homes in our neighborhood. Kal-El immediately started his intense toy scouting. He found a little stuffed toy dog..it was a new TY chiwawa that looked just like KiKi, Aunt Vicki's dog :) He also managed to get some free goodies with his little flirty smile. Ladies man :) I hadn't planned on looking for anything in particular myself but I always have party planning in the back of my mind. I'm seriously considering a side venture. I eyed an adorable little tipi that I had to have.  I immediately thought of a cowboys and Native American party. Sorry you know it drives me nuts not to be PC. Our first stop was a success. It was on to the next.  Aunt Vicki and I rode together while Nannie and Poppa followed us. We would pull up to the various houses and Poppa would come and sit in the car with Logan while we got out and had a look around. Super embarrassed me sooooo badly at one stop...he hopped out of the car with the following complaint "Eww its very very messy...look at mess" Another lady overheard and said "child you not lying" I was mortified and cracking up so we got out fast! We made several more stops before breaking for lunch. We thought Kal-El might welcome a little break to but he was still going strong. We had a yummy lunch at Fiesta and Logan proved to have his own addiction...guacamole...seriously my sweet boy could not get enough. We planned to head home following lunch but the first born still had his yard sale train set on the brain so we had to make a few more stops! Once we got in the car I heard Kal-El say the following to his little brother..."I'm going to get ALL toys today...Logan you get NO toys at MY yard sales!" lol but then I also heard him say "you'll choke" so I'd like to think it was a safety concern! I don't like the idea of getting baby stuff at yard sales since little people are notorious for putting things in their mouths. I even cringe over Kal-El's toys....nothing a little bleach and lysol can't fix though :)  Logan didn't mind one bit...he just grinned his little toothy grin. His tummy was full and his eyes were heavy! Our last yard sale of the day was ironically the same one that sparked Super's interest the day prior. He once again passed on the "too big" truck but opted to take a small treasure trove of other items including an Ironman lunch bag that is really mine lol! It was finally time to head home..we were getting tired but I honestly think Kal-El could of gone all day long if we let him! When we pulled in he asked me "we going yard sale again morrow?" We may very well end up going at least a couple of times a month. If its a family gathering ....I'm in :)
Check out that serious expression!
Aunt V and Nannie and Yard Sale Man :)
Please excuse the 6am no makeup look...I was so happy about this tipi!
The green waste management truck find is his favorite lol
   Lunch break!
Now you see it....
Borquez genes in full effect...he ate ALL of it!
And back we go...
Heading home...see you next Saturday for the sales says Super ;)
 Oh yea :)
