Happy Anniversary Chris "Bear"

 Three years ago today I was exchanging vows with my best friend. I can honestly say I love him more with each passing day. We have spent seven years of our lives together and I wouldn't trade a moment of it for the world, during good or bad times. I can't wait to celebrate together. Hopefully it will be later in the week since his job has him in Memphis today and possibly tomorrow. The exact day is not important what matters to us is that we are able to set some time aside for each other. Seven years of such wonderful memories and I truly feel like we are just getting started. I love you more than words and always will Chris Bear. Happy Anniversary :-)

Logan is 2 Months Old!

  Wow it seems like I was JUST posting his one month pictures. Logan will be 2 months old tomorrow. It's surreal actually. He is precious. He is still such an amazing laid back baby. I did manage to jinx myself however, in regards to his night feedings shortly after his one month blog entry but I must say as of the last 3 nights he is back to only one feeding during the night! Yes! This makes a very sleep deprived Mommy feel human again. Hopefully I didn't just jinx myself yet again. Logan is staying up a lot longer during the day so I contribute this to his improved sleeping patterns at night. He has not constantly given us those sweet social smiles just yet. The only time he came close was when he was looking at the big picture of his brother in the living room. How sweet is that? Whats funny is Super has the exact same reaction to his own picture. LOL! As far as his feedings go he is still such the little piglet. No really I know a lot of Moms say that but our chubby man ALWAYS  takes at least 7.5 oz at a feeding but it usually ends up being 8 or 9. He has grown so much just in the last couple of weeks. He has a sweet little baby doll look to him. Much different than Kal-el looked at his age. Super looked more man-ish but what is so weird about it is my entire family can agree on this statement..Logan looks more like Kal-el than Kal-el did at the same age. Genetics are so neat :) I'm still hoping all his pretty hair doesn't fall out..some of it has but Super was almost bald by this age so that gives me hope. Besides he has so much losing a little will not hurt him ..and its hair ..it grows back! Logan can hold is head up for quite a long time now. He's doing everything a happy, healthy 2 month old should be. We are so proud of him and love him so much. Happy 2 months Logan!

Getting Smaller While He Gets Bigger!

  That's the plan and so far its working! Over the past couple of weeks I've had several messages regarding losing weight and what "secrets" I've used to drop the baby weight so fast.(I still have a good 15 lb to go by the way but even being asked these questions has been so encouraging to me ..so you guys have helped me already! So here's a quick little blog entry on the matter to answer a few questions as well as keep myself accountable. Here's the secret in two words...WILL POWER. I know that's not a fun answer or a quick fix but its just the truth..medical/mental issues with standing of course. Basically almost any reasonable sounding diet will work as long as you stick to it for any length of time as opposed to giving up starting another one etc. I can only speak for what works for me and it's definitely a low carb diet. I honestly adore food..I really do that's precisely the reason I turn into a whale when I'm pregnant (75lb weight gain first pregnancy, 58lb second one). Yep, told ya..I seriously can out eat most grown men. I know that's not feminine or cute but I'm just being honest here. The best analogy I can provide is..I feel about food the way men feel about women to a degree. I have an appreciation for all varieties and my taste can very all the way from 5 star down to a yummy happy meal LOL I love it all :)  I can't stand feeling deprived or hungry and while I miss my sweets terribly when I do low carb after the first few days your cravings stop altogether because your blood sugar is no longer acting bi polar with all the ups and downs. I try to stay under 20 carbs a day. I don't waste my time with net carbs. I've found that really can slow the weight loss down and I like to see results fast so I can stick with it. I don't make any fancy recipes or do meal plans. When things start getting complicated I get stressed lol..so basicly if its lean meat or really just meat I can have it...if its not I don't touch it. It's that simple, the will power is the hard part. So far I've stuck to it (with the exception of my yummy birthday cake) and its doing the trick...42 pounds in 2 months WOO HOO! Like I said I still have 15lb to go and so far I haven't really included much exercise( unless you include chasing Super!). I ashamed to say I hate most forms of it but I'll do a little the closer I get to my goal for toning. Thats about all I can promise LOL :) There are ways to modify the diet if  20 carbs a day seems too drastic. Maybe try 30 a day. There are days when I'd rather have a little more and do it the slow way because I'd rather take it easy on myself after just having a baby two months ago and having major surgery (c section) to get him here! I'll be honest other people are what make that a little hard for me. I feel like at times I'm looked at thru a microscope and I'm not allowed the same leniency as others...almost like seeing me huge is enjoyable for some..I think there's a little word for that....haters :) That's ok because that can serve as motivation as well. The main thing is to stay positive and set little goals along the way. The thing that gets me through it is knowing that once I get the rest of the weight off I can go back to the foods I love ...maybe just a little less of them. Kudos to all you "make it a life style" and fitness gurus.. Momma here can't do that. Maybe those are the best people to get advice from and I wish I could be that way but for now its double cheeseburger hold the bread, and tomato, and condiments and well you get the idea! Good luck :)

A Day With The Ducks

    Saturday, after our trip to Wal-mart, Kal-el and I took a little detour through Spring Park on our way home. Super was almost asleep so my driving was doing the trick or so I thought. As we made our way around the circle he little eye lids went from droopy to wide eyes as he spotted the DUCKS! I literally had to circle the park five times. I knew that we couldn't get out and I felt bad but I had groceries that would ruin not to mention I was in 5 inch heels. He finally got over the "duckies" long enough for me to get home but that that evening it started all over again. This sweet boy had those "duckies" he saw on the brain. Chris was on the road but I knew he'd be back the following day I just didn't know what time. Our orginal plans for Sunday involved going to a family reunion/birthday party for Poppa's sister. We don't see that side of the family much so I was really looking forward to it minus the heat. Chris ended up getting home just before it started so we opted against rushing to get ready and waking sleeping babies up. Besides, Logan hasn't had his shots yet and I didn't want to hurt anyones feelings because I would be leaving him in the carrier with everyone wanting to hold him. Chris and I decided on a less stressful route(hahaha this makes me laugh wildly now) of taking Kal-el to Spring Park to see his beloved ducks!
    We headed out with bottles of water, a 100lb puppy (McCoy) and a wild child toddler with the heat index set at 105 and like crazy people we made our way to the park. This is a fine example of how desperate you are to get out of the house after giving birth. Logan stayed behind with Nannie and Poppa. LOL He's smarter than us already. Once we arrived we headed over to see the ducks per Kal-el's demand request. We spent half the time trying to keep him far away from the water as we safely could. Super's fearlessness scares me to death. He loved tossing bread into the water for them. He wouldn't let do it much. He kept yelling "My duckies, my bread, MINE. Yes, Kal-el EVERYTHING is yours how silly of us lol. Once our bread was gone and we pried him away from his feathered friends we made our way over to the swings. We had planned on riding the train, carousel etc but it became obvious very quickly that it was too HOT to do anything else. So after a failed attempt at the swings we decided to grab a cold treat and head back to the comfort of our cool home. Everyone got treats including McCoy except for moms here because I'm on a low carb diet post baby diet. I just had to pretend my diet coke was other things! Just as we finished and started making our way back to Chris's truck, Kal-el decided that leaving the ducks behind didn't agree with him. Holy terror fit ensues. The throw your self on the ground with everyone watching variety. Nice. My attempts at picking him up off the ground were met with head butts and other brute force. Chris had to finally restrain him and carry him to the car. I started laughing. God help me. I think I was delirious  from the heat because it wasn't a bit funny. Chris and I were both drained and agreed it might be a while before we head to the park again. lol We had planned on taking Super to Build- A- Bear in Huntsville because he loves bears and lights up when the commercial comes on. Maybe the bears will play more nicely with us than the "duckies" did. We'll just have to. Love our wild man there is NEVER a dull moment with him!
                                  Coy wanted some bread to :)
                                            LOL nice hair momma
Kal-el even found it amusing
                                  And of course ALL the birds came right up to the animal whisperer ate out of his hands.. No surprise there!
                            The wild hair duck even got out to pay him a visit!
    Heading over to the swings..in case your wondering no I did not carry him all the way over..just a few steps..I'm psycho and it burns calories :)
                                 Aaaand Kal-el pours McCoys water out.....
Flavor = Strawberry! :)
Flavor = Diet Coke :(
  LOL Wow we look ruff..this is what I get for talking about that poor ducks hair..I'm sprouting my own wing!
  Picture taken right before we left...I don't have to tell you why this was the last shot taken! :)
