What is our Superman into these days? I could give a one word answer, which would be EVERYTHING but I love to share all the funny memorable things that he does and says. Here's this months :)
- Kal-El is still ever the yard sale addict...I kid you not he wakes up thru out the week at 6:00am asking if it's yard sale day? I would of never guessed I 3 year old boy would fancy this past time but he has quite the fondness for it!
- His manners are still great....he always says please and thank you etc...there is one exception. When we have company or family come by he always ask the same thing...rather abruptly..."What you doing here!?" It always gets a laugh...I'm sure the answer he's fishing for is "I came to see YOU!"
- He still watches me get ready and in the past he would always tell me I looked so "berry pretty Mommy". Thats been altered some! Last week he said the following "Ol silly Mommy why you coloring you face!?"
- Chris and I don't like him watching shows with guns and certainly no toy guns etc He's just too young to understand that their not toys. I had a sit down with him last month and showed him a picture of a gun and explained as best I could to a 3 year old that these were not toys and could hurt people very badly or kill them. I didn't really think this convo was premature in the way I simplified it for him until we went to the Box Car one day for lunch. There was a police officer in the restaurant. None of us even noticed him with the exception of my son. Kal-El is normally extremely interactive but he sat frozen in his chair not speaking to any of us. We didn't realize until the officer finally left that Super was apprehensive about the gun on his belt. Poor baby...I'm going to try to be a little less dramatic in my approach next time. Don't hold your breath...I love these babies ;)
- Super will ever so often ask if Logan can come lay in the bed with us. I think it's so sweet. He will sit close to him and put his arm around him. Logan prefers his own bed and is very restless with us so he always ends up going back but Kal-El makes sure he gets some big brother cuddle/play time!
- Kal-El has a new favorite Disney show....Doc McStuffins...adorable show....I even catch myself watching it :)
- When it comes to his meals, Super must be hitting a growth spurt because he has quite the appetite most days. His favorite thing right now is okra. He can't get enough and he will absolutely NOT share.
- When I get on to him...which this past week has been fairly often... he's been extra mischievous....he always sighs and goes "Oh Mommy" He's so theatrical and I still catch myself trying not to laugh some days!
- The phrase "never that again" is still very popular around here...usually reserved for Logan who may happen to touch one of his toys...."Logan you no to touch my toys never that again"
- He's in the habit of saying "I'm berry sorry" BEFORE he does things like fly off a sofa, purposely pour a drink over, etc ;)
- If Logan reaches for a toy that looks a little small to Super he yells at me and says "Mommy oh no get it, him gonna get choked" awesome big brother!
- Kal-El only locked me out of the house once this week when I went to the mailbox...I'm no idiot I always take my keys out with me :)
- Last but not least my favorite Kal-El isim happened to be at church on Mother's day. Just as we all bowed our heads for the closing prayer Super starts saying VERY loudly...."umm I'm hungry ...I need chicken...NOW..where my chicken...Kal-El hungry LOL after service I had several people come and ask Chris and I if we feed our children ...so funny...never a dull moment....
I love you Super I wouldn't change a single thing about you ...I love your spirited heart and rambunctious love hard/ play hard nature baby boy! :)

Logan is 11 Months Old!
I must say that this month has gone by the quickest since I started doing these posts. This was also the most difficult month to photograph because sweet baby Logan is SO mobile now. It was nearly impossible to get him to sit still ...let alone have him sit beside a framed number and not touch it lol~! I thought I would eventually be writing about how he'd outgrown his sweet laid back personality and wonderful sleep habits but it never happened. He still looks and acts like a real life baby doll. I adore him. We all do. :)
Developmentally he's still doing much of the same in true Logan form. Slow and steady wins the race! He does pull up to his knees everyday but just not to his feet yet :) He's a very fast active crawler so that seems to be getting the job done for the moment. In food news...he's late developing love of baby food has begun to wane just as quickly as it emerged. He's all about real food and his beloved mashed potatoes have been replaced with a new favorite....guacamole....yes thats right...Borquez genes in full effect. He LOVES it and never fails to eat an entire serving of it. I'm glad he likes it because avocados are super healthy! It's only one month away until his big first birthday bash. I've been working extra hard on it and hope it turns out extra special for our special little man. I can't believe I've failed to mention his nickname up until now. We don't use it as much as Super for Kal-El but its still a great nickname. "Tank"...mainly because his so heavy.....don't judge...you would be to if you had Adamantium in your bones! (Wolverine reference for those of you confused). We love you Logan and can't wait to see all the new adventures being a one year old brings to our family! :)

What Being a Mother Means To Me...
I can answer that question in one word, without hesitation...everything. I've known since I was a very small child that I wanted to be a mother. I've always held this dream close to my heart and envisioned it as part of my identity. I was overjoyed from the moment I found out I was pregnant with Kal-El and was no less excited about my second blessing with Logan. I hope my children know that no matter what I will always be there for them and I will always be "home" to them no matter what life brings. I will never change and my love for them is truly unconditional. This morning I awoke to beautiful cards from the boys in my life :) I always get the most touching cards from my husband. I always tell myself I won't cry but I always do. They are just so heart felt and the cards he gives me from the superheros are priceless to me. I'll keep them forever. I don't like big extravagant gifts for Mother's Day. I actually request home made crafts and keepsake cards. This is one occasion I don't want to be commercialized . I don't want gifts for being a mom...its what I love. It's what I live for. It's a gift itself and the greatest one a woman can receive. To not only be a part of creation but shaping another human beings life. A beautiful, remarkable journey. Knowing my little family of 4 loves me is all the gift in the world I could ask for. I feel truly blessed and thank God for them daily.
We had a great service at church this morning. Afterwards we went to have a Mother's Day lunch with Mom and Nannie and Poppa. The one down side today is my precious Aunt Shane, who is also like a mother to me fell and broke one arm and injured her other arm very badly. She's been on my mind all day and I hope she has a speedy recovery. It wasn't the same not seeing her face today. After lunch we headed back to our cars in the pouring down rain and back to Nannie's house. Larry made some yummy pie and we just relaxed and enjoyed each others company. Lastly, my favorite Mother's Day quote no matter how many times I've heard it or said it...it simply does not get old. Thank you Kal-El and Logan for making me the happiest Mommy on earth and thanks to my own mom for many fond memories that I can look back on.

Yard Sales!
Who knew Superman was a yard sale junkie! This morning Aunt Vicki, Nannie, Poppa, and the boys and I got up bright and early to enjoy some local yardselling'. We had a blast. I haven't been to a yard sale in a few years and would of honestly never thought to go had it not been for Kal-El. Yesterday after lunch Chris and I drove thru a neighborhood on our way home looking at houses. A yard sale caught Super's eye and he begin asking what it was and could we get out. Nannie and Poppa ate lunch with us so when they saw that we had stopped they got out and had a look around as well. Poppa is not crazy about yard sales but Nannie was absolutely in heaven....her and Kal-El both! After lining every toy truck up on the premises and inspecting each of them (this was hilarious to watch) He went with a green waste management dump truck. We tried to persuade him to go with a really big nice truck and his response after us pressuring him for ten minutes was "THAT ONE'S TOO BIG, I DONT LIKE IT." I was worried we might have a true "yardseller" at the point. He knew just what he wanted and wanted to find the hidden treasures himself! When we arrived home for the evening Chris got called out to work and all I heard about from Kal-El was "Mommy I wanna go to yard sale" I thought he would eventually give it up but he didn't! I decided to call Aunt Vicki and Nannie before we went to bed to see if they would be up for an early Saturday morning of yard sales. They agreed and the rest is history!
Six am came pretty early this morning but Super didn't mind one bit. I reminded him where we were going and he sat straight up in bed and shouted "yard sales...I need to look for train toys!" He had an agenda! We started out at a couple of homes in our neighborhood. Kal-El immediately started his intense toy scouting. He found a little stuffed toy dog..it was a new TY chiwawa that looked just like KiKi, Aunt Vicki's dog :) He also managed to get some free goodies with his little flirty smile. Ladies man :) I hadn't planned on looking for anything in particular myself but I always have party planning in the back of my mind. I'm seriously considering a side venture. I eyed an adorable little tipi that I had to have. I immediately thought of a cowboys and Native American party. Sorry you know it drives me nuts not to be PC. Our first stop was a success. It was on to the next. Aunt Vicki and I rode together while Nannie and Poppa followed us. We would pull up to the various houses and Poppa would come and sit in the car with Logan while we got out and had a look around. Super embarrassed me sooooo badly at one stop...he hopped out of the car with the following complaint "Eww its very very messy...look at mess" Another lady overheard and said "child you not lying" I was mortified and cracking up so we got out fast! We made several more stops before breaking for lunch. We thought Kal-El might welcome a little break to but he was still going strong. We had a yummy lunch at Fiesta and Logan proved to have his own addiction...guacamole...seriously my sweet boy could not get enough. We planned to head home following lunch but the first born still had his yard sale train set on the brain so we had to make a few more stops! Once we got in the car I heard Kal-El say the following to his little brother..."I'm going to get ALL toys today...Logan you get NO toys at MY yard sales!" lol but then I also heard him say "you'll choke" so I'd like to think it was a safety concern! I don't like the idea of getting baby stuff at yard sales since little people are notorious for putting things in their mouths. I even cringe over Kal-El's toys....nothing a little bleach and lysol can't fix though :) Logan didn't mind one bit...he just grinned his little toothy grin. His tummy was full and his eyes were heavy! Our last yard sale of the day was ironically the same one that sparked Super's interest the day prior. He once again passed on the "too big" truck but opted to take a small treasure trove of other items including an Ironman lunch bag that is really mine lol! It was finally time to head home..we were getting tired but I honestly think Kal-El could of gone all day long if we let him! When we pulled in he asked me "we going yard sale again morrow?" We may very well end up going at least a couple of times a month. If its a family gathering ....I'm in :)
Check out that serious expression!
Aunt V and Nannie and Yard Sale Man :)
Please excuse the 6am no makeup look...I was so happy about this tipi!
The green waste management truck find is his favorite lol
Lunch break!
Now you see it....
Borquez genes in full effect...he ate ALL of it!
And back we go...
Heading home...see you next Saturday for the sales says Super ;)
Oh yea :)
